Seraphina's POV

Waiting for John outside of the school against the wall of the gate was tiring but it'd probably won't take long. But I wonder what's taking so long. I tap my foot against the side of the wall in boredom, most of the students have left the vicinity by now... He was probably injured... I think at least, but then wouldn't he skip?

By mere chance, I was able to see him slowly walk towards me, Ah! I pushed myself off the rough wall and moved towards him but he seemed... Shocked by my appearance...  His eyes widen before coughing a ton, "I-I was not expecting to see you..." He said covering his mouth.

"I was waiting for you, and we've got to go to Woaba Boba!" I exclaim in excitement, I waited for my energy to spread onto him but he seemed... Distant...

He scrambled looking worried but I decided to ignore it. I grab his hand and quickly took off with him.

"Come on it won't be that bad!" I said as he started to struggle to try to pull himself away from my grip but to no avail.

"I know you lost the bet but there's no need to whin about that so stop resisting!" I said walking out of the school calmly, it's a little invigorating to have my powers back I got to say...

Arriving at the building, the big bold letters highlighting Woaba Boba. We walk in taking a seat near a window looking down at his fists I see himself clench them tightly... Does he hold... Resentment? But it's too early to have that sort of emotion we only talked for 2 days!

... I must've misread something, "Hey John, everything already?" I asked laying on of my arms on the table waiting for his answer, he panicked stifling for air...

"Yeah, I just... It's nothing really!" He said in a brightening mood but I've already seen too much to know that's a lie.

I sigh resting my head against the chair looking up at the roof.

"Alright..." I quietly said submitting not wanting to make it seem like I know his issues.

An awkward silence filled the table as we waited for the waiter, after a minute she finally came. "Hello! My name is Angelica! Are you ready for your order?" I raise my head off the chair to see the same waiter we had since the 3 days I came here, it's really weird.

"Yeah, two mangos!" I said, she wrote it down before leaving our table and the silence returned...

I've got to break the silence... Ah I know I'll just ask some questions! It'd seem like it's just a friendly way to try to find out more of him! Right?

"So... John... Where did you come from?" I ask laying my head back onto the back of the chair waiting for his answer.

"...New Boston" He said leaving out a simple answer which kinda makes it hard to continue a conversation!

"I heard that's a long way from here," I said looking over to him to see him nod in response... Damn what's with him?! He seems so distant now... More than before!

I need a way to maintain this friendship! My mind starts going haywire trying to figure out what I've done but I came up with nothing! The waiter comes back with our drinks and lays them on the table for us to drink before quickly leaving.

I adjust my clothes getting more comfortable and started drinking my drink taking quick peeks at John to see him staring at his drink in silence momentarily drinking some before going back to staring at it.

Somethings on his mind... I know it, it's obvious but I'm oblivious to what's on his mind, I mentally slap myself.

I need to lighten the mood maybe it'll get his mind off of it! But what do I talk about...

...

Maybe past friends! He's got to have happy memories with them! But I'm sure he misses them I'm sure the joyful memories will overpower missing them!

"So John how were your old friends back then!" I ask smiling holding my drink to my mouth before taking a sip, I look over to him to see him look mortified... What happened?! 

He stands up abruptly I stare up at him, my eyes widen, I see him move his hand shakily over to his head, suddenly I got a memory of John doing the exact same thing before! Now his eyes widen, he looks over at me shocked to see me as if he didn't know what was happening, he realizes his surroundings quickly.

"I've got to go," He said before moving to the door.

"Wait, what- John-" I called out getting out of my seat but I was already too late, he left the building... 

I sigh disappointedly... I wonder...
