*Liv's POV*

"Stop crying!" He yelled, droplets of spit flying over my face

"I'm sorry!" I cried, unable to stop the tears from flowing down my cheeks. My father rolled his eyes and took another large sip from the whiskey bottle he was holding tightly in his hand. Before I had time to register his actions, his hand flew back and struck my cheek, causing me to fall to the ground from the momentum.

A sob escaped my lips, but I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from making anymore noises that irritated him. He glared down at me and shook his head. "You're just as pathetic as she was." He spat, referring to my mother - who abandoned us when I was 5 years old, causing my father's drinking problem.

"Go and make breakfast before you're late for school." He mumbled and stumbled down the hallway to the living room, bottle in hand.

I whimpered in relief as he disappeared out of sight. I was lucky today. He wasn't in the mood to spend too much time with me. Usually the torture of his beatings would last at least an hour.

I closed my eyes, trying to regain my normal breathing, and stood up slowly. I made my way to the kitchen and started making breakfast. I moved slowly and softly, not wanting to make him mad with the clatter of the dishes.

I made bacon and toast, his favourite. Especially when he drinks whiskey.

When I was finished I piled a decent amount of food on to a plate and made him coffee. Black, no sugar.

I then took the food and brought it to him, looking at the ground so I wouldn't make him mad with my face. He got angry if he looked at my features too long. He said I looked too much like her.

He accepted the food without looking at me and I quickly went to the kitchen again. I piled the left overs on to another plate and placed it in the fridge for him to eat later if he was hungry. I then started to clean the kitchen.

Halfway through washing the dishes, my stomach grumbled loudly. I sucked in a breath and closed my eyes. The scent of bacon still filled the kitchen making my mouth water deliciously as I imagined the salty meat fill my mouth.

My stomach grumbled again and I looked at the fridge with sorrow.

Just one piece won't make a difference. Right?

I shook my head to get the thoughts out and finished with the dishes.

Another hungry pang hit my stomach roughly, making me bend over. I felt nauseous.

How long has it been since I've eaten? 4 days. That's right.

I was doing good. This has been the longest I've went without food so far and I felt proud of myself. I wanted to loose more weight to please Ryan. He would be so happy if I looked better.

I looked at the fridge again and frowned. Maybe I can have a piece of bacon as a reward. It was my favourite food after all. I mean who doesn't love bacon?

I slowly made my way to the fridge and opened the door. The plate of bacon and toast stood perfectly on the top shelf, calling me forward to take a bite.

I reached forward and took a piece of the browned meat. I quickly took a bite, hearing the crispy skin crack under my teeth. I almost moaned as the delicious taste filled my mouth. It was delicious. And so worth it.

Soon the piece was finished and I greedily reached for another. I sighed happily, enjoying the food as it slid down to my stomach. And I reached for another. And another.

When I went to reach for another piece my eyes widened when I saw the empty plate. I had eaten it all.

Oh no.
