Lucia checked the time on her phone. 3:30 in the afternoon. She was expecting to her mates Liz and Meg thirty minutes earlier.

Where are you?,she thought. She really hated it when her friends were late for things like these.

She sighed deeply.

She was standing in the blooming lawn of Central Park waiting for her friends. Her chocolate brown eyes was staring at a distance. She wore a black tank top with little Hello Kitty designs and jeans paired with blue sneakers.

"See? I told you they will be late," a voice said.

She turned back, slightly startled by the voice.

At her back stood a tall guy with perfectly coiffed blond hair, as if he finished his gel bottle in one go. He wore a red flannel shirt and jeans paired with white sneakers. He stood beside a park bench, his arms crossed.

Her brother,Walter,or Walt for short, is INSANE IN THE BRAIN. One thing that he hates about his brother is that he does not tolerate lateness. He is all about being early, being responsible, blah, blah, blah.

He entices her to sleep early for school, forbids her to play computer games, and a lot more terrifying things. Lucia just stared at him like he was an alien from another planet.

Walter walked to her, his ice blue eyes staring at her soul. "Lucia," he said "They are 30 minutes too late. Let's go home. As far as I can recall, you have assessment on Physics tomorrow.

"What? How does he know that?!, Lucia thought.

"I read your Assignment notebook and I saw your test results in Physics," Walter told her as if he was reading her thoughts.

"How did you..?" Her voice trailed off. "Wait," she continued, "You rummaged in my stuff again!" Walter just stared at her like it was just normal.

" I've decided." Lucia said " that I will not come home until I see my friends.

" Fine by me," Walter said.

She was about to say to her brother that he was too serious when her new iPhone rang.

She quickly dug her phone in her pocket.

"Hello?" She said. " Hello Darling?" The sweet voice of her mother rang in her ears.

"Mom? Why did you call?" She asked, slightly baffled. Her mom does not use her phone, even when it is very necessary.

" Hey baby, I just wanted to ask you not to come home," her mother's voice fragile like glass. Lucia's eyes widened. "Why mom?" She asked.

" Just follow me. I just want you to know that I love both of you. Tell your brother that. Please." Mom wait!" Lucia screamed.

But her mother put down her phone.

She faced her brother, her face radiated anxiety and fear.

"Walter," screamed to her brother. "Something's wrong at the house."

" What? What's wrong?" Her brother asked.

" I don't know. But mom told me not to go to the house. I don't know why." She told her brother.

Her brother inhaled sharply. Then, without saying another word, he grabbed her sister's right hand and ran to their house, not minding what will happen to them.
