Kaz sighed. why today? he had work to do, people to kill, and things to make sure that other people didn't mess up on behind their backs, so they would think that they were competent.
But no. he had to be sick. and to make matters worse, the rest of the gang was at the slat with him, so he couldn't just stay in his room and do paperwork all day. I mean sure, he could, but then they, being the annoying (but endearing) idiots that they are, would come check up on him and make him eat something. Kaz rolled over, muttered choice phrases under his breath and went back to sleep anyway, hoping that maybe, just maybe they would stay away, so that his headache and chills would leave him so he could go and do something intresting.
Inej Pov
( A/N I suck at povs, so i sorry about this...)
I glanced up at the clock worriedly. Kaz is usually awake hours before now, with coffee in hand and a plan in mind. I expressed my worry to Jesper, who nodded and said "I'll go check up on him, but he is probably buried in mounds of paper work, and his door is probably locked with something unpickable, but I'll check" I nodded my thanks and went to see how Nina was faring in the kitchen, as she was attempting to make waffles, and making an absolote mess, and the giant yellow tulip was trying, he really was, to help, but now they were either making out on the floor or smattering batter in each others faces. As long as I didn't have to clean it, I didn't really care.
Jeeeesper POV
(again. I sorry for this writing.. Idk what else to doooo)
I walked quietly up the stairs, chuckling to myself as I heard Nina's triumphant: "I have made slightly less burnt waffles! let us feast!" and the chorus of groans that followed. I knew Wylan wasn't one of them though, he was just to sweet and pure for this gods-forsaken hellhole of a home. Although, if some one ( not Wylan ) asked me to leave, I would stay. The city just grows on you. When I reached the top of the stairs, I noticed that Kaz's door was unlocked, which meant that he was allowing guests, but he was probably still working. Jesper shook his head. He doubted Kaz would ever stop working, ever. I was still shaking my head when I opened the door, and, much to my surprise, Kaz was still in bed, arm thrown over his face, but what surpised him the most was the thin sheen of sweat that covered his face, and fevered mumbling, and his eyes rolling under his eyelids. Jesper bit his lip in concern. There were two ways to do this, and both would probably end up with him killed, anyway. Jesper strode over to the window, and he pulled the curtains open, letting light flood into the room. When I yanked open the curtains, dust flew up from the fabric, hitting me in the face and making me cough and my eyes water. " jeeze, Kaz, how do you live like this? are you a vampire or demon or some thing?" I methodicly moved around the room, opening curtains and tidying up a bit. I decided that I was going to have to wake Kaz up eventually, so I picked up a ink pen and poked him with it, over and over again. My dad had always said, "if someone has a fever, the'll talk right back to ya" And so I told Kaz, "get up, you lazy bastard" and, to my surprise, he rolled over to my direction and muttered, " five more minutes, Jordie, five moore, please?" like a young child. I froze. There, that name again. Jordie. Who was that? Kaz had called me that severall times, and I got the feeling that it was (or used to be) more than someone he trusted, given the decriptic explanation that he had given me a few months ago. I decided that someone was going to need to take his temp, and Inej would be the only one who wouldn't get killed or severly mauled, so I went down stairs to go get her, shutting only a few of the windows when I left, shutting the door behind me.
