MITCH

After my party was over, Travis said he'd drive me to my house so I could start packing my things. I was gonna move into my grandparents house tomorrow and I needed to pack tonight before my mom got home Sunday.

"Thank you." I spoke up in the silence of our car ride. I had my head turned towards the window.

"For what?"

"For asking my grandparents to come. I appreciate that, a lot."

"It's no problem."

"But really," I turned my head over at my boyfriend, "I'm thankful for you. Not only for asking them, but for loving me. I never thought anyone would love me, because I'm blind. But you put up with it."

"I don't put up with it Mitch. It's not a bad thing that you can't see. I love you because you're an amazing person anyway. You're so nice, to everyone, and you're funny and sweet. You love me even though I'm a bad boyfriend, compared to you."

"You're not a bad boyfriend Travis. You're amazing too." We were at a red light so I leaned over and kissed him.

TRAVIS

When Mitch pulled out of the kiss, the light turned green so I stepped on the gas pedal. I saw head lights coming at us and before I could see what it was, everything went black.

I woke up again and the car was smashed and in the middle of the street. We had been hit by a semi.
I looked over at Mitch. His eyes were closed. I tried to lift up my hand to wake him up but I couldn't move anything. My body felt numb. My head hurt so bad.

When I had pulled out of the kiss, something hit us really hard. I woke up and tried to feel for Travis. I found him, "Travis?"

"Y-yeah?" His voice was low. I felt him and when I got up to his head, I felt something cold and wet. Blood.

"Your head is bleeding. How do you feel?"

"Not good. My body is numb and my head hurts. I must've hit it. Your head is bleeding too." I felt my head and I felt the same cold wetness.

"What happened Travis?"

"We got hit by a semi. He ran through his red light. It wasn't my fault." I heard him starting to sob and I leaned over and hugged him. When he stopped sobbing, I tried to see if I was hurt anywhere else. I felt my arms. Good. I felt my legs. Not good. My left ankle was in A LOT of pain. It was crushed under the dash and I couldn't pull it out.

"M-Mitch."

"What Travis?"

"Come here," I slid over and put my head on his chest, "I love you. So much."

"I love you too."

"I don't feel so good Mitchy." I sat up and felt his head. It was bleeding a lot. Blood kept coming out and I felt around to find the source of the injury. There was a pipe sticking in through his window. It went, right to his head. The semi must've been carrying metal pipes and one flew at us.

"Travis-"

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm not a good boyfriend. I love you though. More than you know Mitch."

"Travis. Stay with me baby. I love you."

"I was gonna ask you to marry me after graduation. I wanted us to have kids. We would be so happy."

"Travis. We can still do all that. We'll get married and have kids babe. I promise." I sobbed into his chest. He couldn't leave me.

"I-I love you." I felt his head fall back.

"Travis. Travis! No!" I heard men talking around me. I tried to find the door handle. It wouldn't open.

"Sir. We need to get you out of there." I heard a man say.

"Travis. Please! Stay with me baby. Come on," I felt around him and he had his eyes closed. I listened to his heart. There was nothing, "Travis!" He was gone. Forever.
