'oh fair maiden of the temple of wisdom,
forever loyal and untainted,
for your beauty was the fairest,
it was the cause of your downfall,
far and wide, men lined up for a glimpse,
such beauty enthralled even a mighty god,

one darkest in the night,
in front of the statue of goddess athena's might,
lay sprawled, floor glinted crimson,
ripped clothing, broken dignity, tears unending,
now tainted, unloyal she was branded,
in front of her deity, the evil had done the deed,
'oh goddess i have served thee,
'why shan't protect me?

'none among my followers are traitors',
a melodic voice thundering, disembodied from the statue,
jealousy in the shadow of its voice,
scorn emanate from its power,
'cursed you will be,
punishment for your broken fealty,
venomous snakes for your hair of silk,
wriggling and writhing they shall be,
vengeful eyes for those bright stars,

forever, no man shall glimpse again,
to stone they shall turn,
emotionless and worthless,
'oh medusa of the gorgons,
in the darkness you shall live.
