Chapter 3: The Story Of The Corpse Bride
Jack could hear talking around him as she slowly opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was the gray/blue eyes and a smile. "Oh you're waking up, thank goodness. Are you alright?" He heard a sweet voice as he sat up a little rubbing his head, "Where... Am I?" He ask as he finally got a good look at who he was talking about, it was the corpse that attacked him before. "Oh well, um.." She starts as she sits back a little as another corpse touches her shoulder, "You're dead!" The corpse says making Jack's eyes widen as the bride raised her hands in defense, "No, no you're not dead. You're still living." She says elbowing the corpse behind her making him grunt as he step back.
She grabbed Jack's hand, "But you are, down below?" she says not even sure that was the right word to use. "Down... Below? As in hell?" He ask making the corpses around him laugh. "No, not hell, but not heaven either." She says as she moved her thumb over Jack's hand, it was almost calming to him. Why was he so calm during all of this? Was he dreaming? The bride stood up as she reached out her other hand, "Let's me help you up." she says as Jack looked at her hand to see a ring on her hand. He grabbed it as he stood up still holding her hands.
"This ring..." He says making the bride look down, "Oh you said your vows so perfectly in the woods. It was hard not to fall so fast for you." She says turning her head. Even though her skin was pale blue, he knew she was blushing making him blush with her as he turned his head. So he wasn't dreaming, he really married a corpse bride. He looked behind him to see a lot of corpses, skeletons and bugs as he notice that he was in a bar like place. He felt someone grab his hand as he looks to see his bride smiling at him, "Do you want to look around?" She ask making him nod, "Yeah, I really would." He says as they start to walk around saying hello to everyone they say.
Jack couldn't stop smiling, it almost felt right being here. He could tell everyone here was enjoying themselves, how they were happy. No one in the living world was like this, they were to worried about money, debt, jobs, Jack didn't even think people fell in love anymore up there. He looked at his bride, she seem somewhat familiar to him, like they meet before. They finally walked out of the bar to an alleyway where there were more corpses and skeletons. "Come on, I want to show you something." The bride says as she pulls Jack making him laugh, "You are very excited." He says making her nod, "I've waited along time to meet someone like you." She says making Jack's heart beat faster, why was it doing that?
"You know, out of all of this... excitement, I didn't get your name." Jack says making the bride look at him a smile on her face, "I guess we didn't really introduce ourselves huh?" She says letting go of his hand just to rub her arm. She seemed hurt, like she was mad at herself. "Hey, it's okay." Jack says touching her arm making her look at him, "We... Kind of jumped into this marriage fast huh?" He says with a smile making her smile back. He wasn't a hundred percent sure if their married was true or not, if they were even married at all but he didn't like seeing this woman hurt, because it hurt him.
"I guess we did. My name is Elsa." She says. Elsa, it was like a wave of memories and feelings went through Jack. "Elsa, have we..." Jack whispers to himself until he felt Elsa grab his hand again and start to pull him along again. "And your name?" She asks as they start to go up some stairs. "Oh it's Jackson. But I like to be called Jack." Jack says as they reached the top of the stairs and Jack got a view of the world that Elsa lived in. It was more beautiful then he could imagine. He forgot everything he was feeling or thinking before as he step up to the railing looking out into the world that wasn't Heaven or Hell. He felt Elsa next to him as she looked over the rail also, "I thought you'd like this." She says making him look at her.
He could finally get a good look at Elsa. She had snow white hair that was flowing down her back along with a vail and her right hand was still a blue hand but her left was a skeleton hand that held his ring but to him, it just showed off the ring more on that hand, it just fit her so well. "You're beautiful." Jack says making Elsa look at him shocked that he said that, she wasn't really ready for him to say that and honestly it took him by surprised too. She starts to giggle out of nerves as she turned around to have her back to the rail, "I... I haven't heard that in a long... Long time." She says as she pushes off the rail and starts to walk to a bench.
