“You have GOT to be kidding me.” I was so angry at the hotel management right now! I mean, what hotel just “forgets” to book you a room when you call them asking for a room for 5 WEEKS?! I mean, what hotel would pass on all that money from just one family?

“I’m sorry miss, if you remember who you talked to, I can go confront him about this.” Ugh! Seriously, that’s all he’s gonna do?! I NEED A ROOM FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!!

I had to handle this situation after my mom stormed out of the hotel so she wouldn’t make a scene, and as much as I hate it, this hotel’s manager did not want to listen to a 13 year old girl complain about his employees.

“I don’t want you to talk to the guy! I WANT YOU TO GET ME A ROOM I CAN STAY IN FOR 5 WEEKS!!!!!!”

“I’m sorry miss, but we are all booked for the next 4 weeks.” Oh my gosh, you’ve got to be kidding me. Now what are me and my mom supposed to do while our stupid apartments are fixing the pipe in our kitchen, and redoing the whole kitchen and dining room because the people upstairs somehow exploded our pipe and flooded the kitchen? This is seriously the worst news ever.

This was the only hotel we could find that wasn’t booked, and it was 5 hours away from home! Okay, let me tell you about myself before I go any further into this story. My name is Milee, I’m a 13 year old girl going into 8th grade next year. I have dirty blonde hair, brown eyes, and I’m overweight. Not majorly, but I am. I’m absolutely obsessed with Justin Bieber, Austin Mahone, and of course, One Direction! All of my friends LOVE One Direction too, and my best friend LOVES Justin Bieber, just like me. But, don’t tell anyone about my Austin Mahone obsession because, well, my best friend HATES him. I don’t know how or why, but she does, and I don’t want her to stop talking to me because I like him, not that she’s that kind of person, but still. My mom is the only person that knows about that obsession. Anyways, I live in boring old Lewisville, Texas, and now, I’m in a hotel in San Antonio, Texas yelling at the hotel manager.

“Ummmm, may I ask what’s going on here?” Okay, random guy, WHY do you care?

I obviously didn’t want to say that out loud to a random stranger, so instead I was nice and said, “My mom called and booked a room here for 5 weeks and drove all the way here from Lewisville to find out that they didn’t book our room!” Wow, that came out really smooth, nice job Milee!

“Well, is it just you and your mom wanting to stay here? Because if it is, my wife, son, and I are staying here for 8 more weeks and we wouldn’t mind if you stayed with us since the STUPID people here didn’t book your room.” He raised his voice when he said “stupid” just so the manager could hear.

“Wow, ummmm, that’s really nice of you, yes it’s just my mom and I, but we wouldn’t really feel right barging into these little rooms here with you guys.” This guy was being really nice to us, I wonder why? AND he looks familiar to me, but I know I’ve never met this guy before, weird.

“Oh, we actually have the penthouse suite and it has 5 rooms in it, so there’s plenty of room. Plus, it’s already 11:30 pm, and there are not many other places that you can go to stay now. We seriously don’t mind you two ladies staying with us.” He gave me a big smile.

“Okay, I’ll go ask my mom then, she’s just outside.” Okay, I know what you’re thinking: that I’m crazy for just trusting some guy that looks like he’s in his forties. Well, I’m sorry you think I’m crazy, but we kind of need somewhere to stay, and he still looks really familiar to me, and a good familiar.

I get outside and find my mom in the car trying to calm down.

“Mom, you don’t have to worry anymore... some guy that looks strangely familiar offered to let us stay with him, his wife, and his son for the 5 weeks.” She just looks up at me and smiles. Weird, mom, just weird.

“Oh, okay, let me go speak to this man, and you can get the bags out of the car, yeah?”

“Okay mom, let me do all the hard work.” I say sarcastically, and she just walks away laughing. What is up with her tonight?

“Oh, well” I say to myself, “I’ll figure it out tomorrow.”

Melissa’s (Milee’s mom) POV

Oh, Milee is gonna love me for this. I walk into the hotel lobby to find the Mahones, well, just Sarah and John Mahone. “Melissa! I haven’t talked to you in person for ages! When was the last time, College Graduation? Wow, at least 16 years since we’ve been face to face.”

“Oh my goodness, hi Sarah! Hi John! I missed you both so much! And thank you so much for doing this for Milee, she’s such a huge fan of Austin’s.” yep, these are THE Austin Mahone’s parents. I’ve known Sarah and John since High School, and we even went to College together, but after college, they got married and moved to San Antonio, while I moved to Lewisville. Milee doesn’t know I know her idol’s parents yet…well, that’s kind of obvious, because then she would’ve known the man that talked to her was John.

I set this up with both the hotel and the Mahones because I wanted to show Milee that I care about her obsessions with One Direction, Justin Bieber, and Austin.  She’s going to be so surprised and happy. Sarah, John and I decided we wouldn’t tell Milee about this plot until the morning when she’s calmed down from the “hotel issue” and me walking out on it for her to deal with. But, it was all part of the plan, and I hope she understands that.
