An urban settlement only having a few occupants to it's name. Yet many children could be seen in the prestigious petalpass preschool, where young trainer dreams are realized.
In a huge classroom with artworks of the various students. The teacher seems to be a tall middle age woman with a natural angry face."now children." She says with an unpleasant tone
"I want all of you to come out and present to the class what you want to be in future".
One by one the children come out dressed in ambitional costumes, such as trainers, breeders, dancers, doctors, musicians and so on. Finally the class stares at the final student coming to present his dream. His a small kid with unruly purple wearing a lab coat making others think he wants to be a doctor.
He gets to the front of the class and says " H-Hello m-my name is N-Neil and...and I want to become a Pokemon professor!"
The class burst into laughter saying things like "how boring" and "is he being serious".even the angry looking teacher was smirking causing Neil to run all the way to the abandoned storage room.
Neil thought to himself ("they don't understand" ) he then proceeds to cry while holding a broken stone.
Neil returns home and tells his father about what happened.
"gyahahah!" His father let's out a hefty laugh suitable for a hefty structured man as himself. "I told you boy. No one respects a low paying job like a professor, especially one with a dream like yours" he says while smirking "disappointing".
Neil then looks enraged by his father and shouted "it was mom's dream!"
"So what! Look where she ended up! Boy it's better for you to be an item maker like me." His father shouted back.
Neil then ran up to his room in tears. He Then took out the stone and remembered his late mother. His mother was a Pokemon doctor who acted like a professor most of the times.
"Neil" she said holding the 5 year old in her arms. "It pains me seeing all the Pokemon in my hospital being sent there for being to weak to defend themselves. I only wish to make all of them stronger" she said with a sad face.
This would cause her to divert her field of study into mega evolution. She thought to herself that it was unfair for only a few Pokemon to be able to reach that stage. She continued on with her work but in the end an accident took her.
A week later Neil is only left with her broken keystone to remember her by. Neil then gripped the keystone tightly and promised to himself
"I will find a way to improve mega evolution!" And so his story began.
