Emilia slid her lunch tray along the edge as the servers popped food onto her tray. She wrinkled her nose when the terrible smell entered her nose. The smell was a mix of the disgusting green lump that sat in the middle of her plate and the cigarettes that the servers were smoking. Emilia found her way to her table where her group was already sitting. While she was eating the green lump that they call food she looked at the people who walked to their tables.

Besides the fact that they study the deadly arts and that there's a lot of violence, King's Dominion wasn't much different from any other high school. There were the crowded hallways and grim colored lockers. People with low reputations also called the rats and people with high reputations. Luckily Emilia had a high reputation since many people petrified her father. Her father owned the most dangerous cartel in San Fransisco which immediately made her popular.

When multiple people of her group turned around and started whispering things it also caught Emilia's attention. Her eyes found the attractive boy who just entered the cafeteria. He had curly dark brown hair that was messily styled while he pulled off the brown, puppy dog eyes. There was only one distinctive feature. It was a faint scar along his right cheek that almost went over his eyes.

Her eyes focused on the group again when they started talking. 'They say he killed a bunch of children,' reported Leighton. 'Must be the reason why he's a rat,' she continued as she saw that the boy called Marcus sat down with the other rats Billy, Lex, and Petra. Emilia always found the rats fascinating, but she couldn't risk her reputation. Normally she wouldn't care about reputations, but this time it would help her get through her school time easier which means getting revenge sooner.

'Lia!' Valeria cheered as she waved her hand before Emilia's eyes. 'Are you coming or not? Class is starting,' she continued and put a hand onto her hip. Emilia and Valeria basically grew up together. Their fathers are best friends, business partners. Well if you can cartel, business. Since the day they were born they were inseparable. Valeria was more violent than Emilia was, but she had a golden heart. When Emilia wanted to enter King's Dominion, Valeria followed her without a doubt. Emilia then nodded and the two girls disappeared in the crowd on their way to their next lesson.

The quite small girl could not help herself. Her eyes looked for the new boy that everyone despised. She spotted Marcus in the corner of the dark classroom.

'All that matters is the win and they take nothing for granted,' the teacher finished her sentence after talking about fighting for ten minutes straight. 'But this time we're gonna do something different... We have fought with our fists many times, but have you ever practiced a fight with a knife?' she said loudly, almost shouting while walking around the classroom and giving students strict looks. 'Alright, pick a partner!' she shouted this time. It didn't matter what height or weight you had to fight like all the teachers say: you can't pick it when it comes down to a real fight either.

After a few minutes, Emilia found a partner. She clenched her hand around the knife while letting her eyes scan the girl in front of her. Lia never really talked to her before, but she did know that her name is Alicia. Alicia pulled her dark brown hair into a high, tight ponytail with shorter pieces of hair falling around her face. She seemed ready, she seemed so secure like she has done this countless times, but so seemed Emilia.

'Good luc,-' Emilia wanted to say, but she couldn't even say anything because the girl already lunged forward, quickly sprinting towards Emilia. She was coming closer and jabbed out her knife in an attempt to stab Emilia, but reflex kicked in and Emilia ducked forward, trying to cleave her legs. Alicia noticed this at the last second and only got away with a small, bleeding slice. She sprinted at Emilia again, but this time she raised her knife and the two blades clanged together, creating a rumbling sound through the classroom, which made Marcus look up and focus his eyes on the girls fighting. The weight of Emilia's knife was dragging her down, but she soon recovered and pushed back hard.

Alicia was very strong, so Emilia jumped back and dashed forward with her knife straight out in front of her. She attempted to stab her arm, but Alicia tucked her shoulders and impaled Emilia's stomach. "Shit!" she snarled, jumping back to release she just had been stabbed. A small part of Emilia's school blouse started to color red. Emilia bit her lip for a second and tried to ignore the weird feeling, she came running at the other girl.

Emilia dashed forward, grabbing her head and pushing it down. Her knee slammed into her face. Alicia harshly crashed against the ground. A small spot of blood could be seen on her forehead, the place where Emilia's knee has hit her. Alicia tried to crawl up, but Emilia didn't let her. Emilia immediately got on top of her and her fists started crashing against Alicia's face. Because of the adrenaline, Emilia forgot to protect herself by putting her feet on her pulses. Alicia punched Emilia hard in the jaw. She stumbled back and fell off of Alicia, but Emilia quickly got up, delivering a hard kick aiming for the center of Alicia's stomach, causing a strained groan. Staggering, she stood up but dropped, blood flowing from her forehead. Emilia was walking towards her, getting ready to kick her again, but she got interrupted by Alicia. "Enough!" Alicia pleaded confidence was no longer seen on her face. Anguish was written all over her face.

'I'm sorry! I was caught up in the moment, are you okay?' Emilia quaked when she noticed the damage she has done. She tried helping her get up, but Alicia pushed her away out of anger and fear at the same time. When Alicia pushed her away, Emilia noticed the red spot on her blouse growing bigger, she completely forgot about the wound because it didn't seem to hurt yet. When she lifted her blouse up and saw the wound, the sickness started to kick in. She looked around her when she started to feel hot. 'I'll be right back,' the girl mumbled, not loud enough for anyone to hear it and without waiting for an answer Emilia stumbled out of the classroom on her way to the bathroom.
