Haniel helped me stand up. I regained my balance and was trying to figure out how Michael could have lost his wings. "How can that happen. How could he lose his wings?" "Well there is only way you can remove an angels wings. It would take a very powerful demon with lots of evil magic to do it. They basically just cut them off. It is a disgrace and not good for Michael." "So that's how you know he didn't return to the spirit realm. He can't get there if he can't fly." No and if he was in his host it would have put a huge strain on the hosts body. He would be very weak and he can't leave the host because if he did he would be dead." "Why would he be dead?" "Remember we angels can't dwell on earth. It was the promise God made to Satan. So if he left the human he would have to be transported back to the spirit realm. Well he can't transport back if he don't have his wings." "He just dies?" "Yes." I was so frustrated with myself. "This is my fault. I shouldn't have let him go. I should have made him to stay or go with him." Haniel placed her hand on my shoulder. "If you would have done that you would have lost your wings too." I was so angry at myself. Then a thought entered my mind. "Wait, I was fighting a level two demon. He or she possessed my Mom." "Really you went up against a level two demon?" "Yes, that's what they said." "Wow. I'm actually quite impressed. I didn't think you had the abilities to go up against a level two demon." "I wonder if it was that demon that took Michael's wings off?" "No, it's not possible. It would have to take a level four demon to do something like that. Michael is to powerful for a level two or three demon. Unless...." "Unless what?" She looked a bit worried about what was on her mind. She had the look of bad news all over her face. "Haniel, unless what?" "Unless it was Satan himself." My heart dropped. I knew I was going to be facing him sooner or later, but I didn't expect it so soon. "Why would Satan come out of hiding and do this." "Not sure. Remember this is just an educated guess. We don't know for sure it was him. All I know is we need to get to the spirit realm. Are you okay to fly?" I clinched both of my first and was feeling the power swell up inside me. It was anger, rage and power all at once. I wanted to do everything in my power to get Michael back and there was nothing that was going to get in my way. "Yes, I am able to fly." I cracked my neck and the wings came shooting out so fast. Faster then ever before. "Michael, we are coming to get you. Haniel let's go." We both took off towards the spirit realm. We knew it was only a matter of time before the demons came out. We could hear there screeches and snarls in the distances. I looked back at Haniel and she was on my side. I looked over to see something come at us. It was a dark figure and coming in really fast. I looked at Haniel and realized she was in the path of the dark figure. I reached for my sword. Haniel saw me pull it out. "Mark, what's wrong?" "Dive! Now!" She dived and the figure missed her and the demon came right for me. I took the sword and in mid flight I swung it at the demon and it dodged it. I turned back around and ordered Haniel to head to the spirit realm. "Mark I can't leave a you. I'll stay and help." "NO! I won't lose you too. Get in the spirit realm. I got this." She knew that I was being serious and didn't doubt my judgement. She took off for the spirit realm and I held off the demon. "What do you want?" The demon snarled as he charged me again. "I want you're heart on a platter." I took my sword and i charged at the demon. We were both on a collision for each other. Just then I took my wings and opened them wide to cause a draft. It sent me flying a few feet higher over the demon. I took my sword and sliced him all the way down. Splitting him into two pieces. He went falling to earth. I gained altitude again and headed for the spiritual realm. I made it through and could see the temple off in the distance. I put my sword back in the sheath and headed for the Human Post. The angels have a nice little setup for the humans. They have accommodations and food and places for them to stay so they'll never have to be on earth again. It's kind of a taste of paradise in heaven for them. I landed just as Haniel was separating from Kim. "I'm going to let Gabriel know about this. Okay." I nodded at her and she took off towards the main door of the temple. I looked over and Kim was standing there in tears. She came over to me. "What's wrong, Kim?" She was hugging men so tight. She brushed one of my feathers on my wings. She then looked up at me. "It was a horrible sight to see those wings laying on the ground. I thought it was you at first and I was worried. Then when you called out for us, I had hope that you were still okay. So when I saw you barely able to stand up I knew you were severely hurt. I was so scared for you." I took my hand and placed it over her head and slowly stroked her hair. "Kim if it wasn't for you I don't think I would be alive. I'm okay now. I promise I won't scare you like that again." "How can you make that kind of promise? You have know way of keeping it. You know as well as I do that the position we put ourselves in is at risk every time. Steph, myself and even you. You will be put in the heat of the battle." I looked at her and could see fear and worry build up in her eyes. "Kim we must trust in Jesus that he is going to take care of us. I'm going to do everything in my power to protect you." She started to feel peace again and I saw a little smile develop. "You protect me. I think you have it backwards. I'm going to protect you." I chuckled at her comment. She then leaned upward and kissed men on the lips. At that moment all the pain, agony or sadness left me. "I'm going to go and get something to eat? You want to join me?" "I would love too, but I need to check in with Gabriel and them." "I understand, well see me before you go back down to earth." "I will. Bye." I took my wings and flapped them downward and I felt my feet lift off the ground. I headed toward the main entrance. As I got there the ArchAngels seemed a little distraught. I landed near them and changed my clothes to be more appropriate. "What's a matter?" Haniel turned around and had this look on her face. It was anger, in fact her aura was a dark red. "What's wrong?" "I just finished letting the Angels know about Michael. Well apparently Gabriel is missing too." "Wait, Gab? How is that possible he doesn't have a host." "Well apparently it seems that Gab has done something no angel has done since the Battle of Eden. He has joined sides with Satan." "What! How is that possible?' I thought that wasn't possible?" "Well according to the other angels they heard Gab making comments at how he wanted to over throw Michael and be he angel in charge. Usually when Angels get power hungry like that it never spells good news." I sat there and just pondered on the whole process. It was hard to believe that Gabriel could do something like this. "If it was Gabriel thought how did he get to earth without a host." She looked at me with a puzzled look and didn't know what to say. "I don't know how he could have done it, but I feel pretty strongly he has done some shady dealing no doubt." "Could we ask Jesus about this and see what he say?" "He is up in heaven taken care of some important matters. He isn't going to be able to help us with this one. We are going to need to investigate this ourselves." I felt this needed to be handled with care and not recklessness. "Okay, well how do you feel after everything? You feel up to going down to earth with me." Just then I fell to my knees. I felt like I had the wind knocked out in me. "What's wrong with me?" "You are still recovering from the battle. you need to rest." "I can't rest Michael needs our help." "Remember time goes a lot slower up here then down there. One Day up here is only an hour on earth. Why don't you go and rest up for a couple of days and then we will head down to Earth." Something inside me felt that it was wrong to stay up here and relax while Michael could be put through any kind of torture. "What I don't know is why would they want Michael anyway? What good is an angel without his wings?" "He could no longer lead the ArchAngels." For a moment it kind of made sense. Maybe Gab did betray Michael to become the commander of the arch angels, but the big question is how. How did he get down to the earth without a host. "Well if I'm going to be staying here for a couple of days I'm going to do some digging and poking around." "Okay, well just take it easy. I'm going to be in the sanctuary resting." Haniel headed toward the temple. I turned around and headed towards the human post. I know I'm an angel and I should be rubbing elbows with the other angels, but right now I feel I need to be with my friends. I landed down near the human post. I changed into something more fitting for me. It was a button up white long sleeve shirt. With my sleeves rolled up. I had a pair of loose fitting jeans and some dress shoes. I had my sleeves rolled up my arms and my hair had a messy spike way to it. I noticed Kim and Steph were inside there quarters. They were nicely built and had every accommodation you would have in a hotel room. I tapped on there door and Steph opened it up. "Mark what are you doing here?" "I thought I would come by and hang out." "Okay, you going to be able to fit with your wings out?" I turned my head to see my wings. I thought I retracted them inside me when I changed my clothes. "Huh, I thought I did retract them. Maybe Haniel was right. Maybe I do need to rest." I motioned my shoulders in a circular motion, but nothing was happened. "Everything okay Mark?" Steph asked. Kim noticed me outside the door and came up behind Steph. "Not sure why I can't get my wings back in." "Everything okay Mark?" Kim said in a worried tone. "I don't understand why I can't get my wings to retract." I started to feel a little light headed. I suddenly fell to my knees. "Oh, no. Mark!" Kim said as she ran to me. Steph came to my other side. "I can't get my wings to go in. Something is wrong." Kim placed her hand on my face. "Mark just focus on me and relax. You're having a panic attack." I tried to control my breathing, but it wasn't helping. Kim leaned in and kissed me on the lips. I felt this overwhelming sensation of peace and love. I embraced Kim and I could feel my wings retracting up. After she pulled away I fell to my side and blacked out.
