Eren's POV
Ever since I was put down into this hole... I was limited on where to go. It wasn't my fault that I, an assassin, had their name put down to be assassinated. How ironic is that? Just thinking of my job being gone- taken, no. Stolen from me because someone released my name to someone... and sent an assassin after me.
"Mr. Eren Jaeger." Was it the assassin? They certainly caught me off-guard now. Sending a girl to kill me... almost pathetic in a way.
I simply chuckled, almost wanting to accept my fate. I turned around, and saw this woman almost completely in black- only a red scarf covering her precious neck. "Chased me down for what? A game? I thought you would kill me directly."
"Kill you? Why would I?"
That's when I saw that brand on her wrist. That single brand warned that she was a descendant of the greatest assassins, trained well ever since she was able to walk. I remembered that every descendant was always loyal to our branch of assassinations. She wasn't an enemy, but an ally.
"I'm here to protect you." She says, ruffling her raven hair. "So, are you almost done with your drink?" Her pale finger pointed to my half pint of beer. "We'll leave immediately if you are done with it."
"Immediately, huh...? No wonder you're always on task and stuff like that." With one swing, I downed that drink and quickly paid for it. "Let's go then. The safe house, I assume?" This woman already had my coat in her slender hands. I just took it and put it on as I walked towards the exit.
The woman shook her head, "No, not exactly. We needed to change locations. I'll show you where you would be staying tonight. If you don't mind, I must keep a careful eye on you because of... well, I don't doubt you don't know it." I just chuckled to hear her cold voice. But she stopped once we started our way to... wherever she was leading me to.

Apparently, this woman took me to this apartment complex- and it wasn't too crowded or too empty. It was... somewhat perfect. If someone too rich or too poor was here, they would stand out. If they acted too normal, well... I got the gist of it within seconds. This woman was smart of where to keep me safe.
The 3rd floor, room 324. Again, it was about perfect on the scale of normality. Not a suite, and certainly not a motel kind of room. Just perfect. Two bedrooms as well. One for me and one for...
"What is your name?" I blurted out as we explored the rooms, ensuring that there was nothing hidden. "You know me, but I don't know you. So who are you?"
"Mikasa." She quietly says, sitting on the bed. "Now, go shower. I'll shower after you. Then, you should sleep."
"Wow... who died and put you in charge?" I chortled a bit, grabbing a towel. "I can handle myself, and I don't need a mother anymore. I'm grown up."
Under her breath, I could've sworn that she said something... but I couldn't hear it clearly and I shook it all off. But there was something about that raven-haired woman... Mikasa... that name rang familiar in my head. But there was too much things, and I couldn't remember it all. Was it during training? No... actually, maybe. No, I can't remember. Mikasa... nothing comes to mind when I say her name under my breath.

Mikasa's POV
I wondered why he doesn't remember me. Was it because we were kids when we first met? Has he forgotten all those years we spent together? I remember as a kid... he adored me. It was obvious, but I remembered. I remembered he used to be flustered when he was beside me... saw me train and wanted to be as strong as I was.
