Chapter 5: Kiss?

Mikasa's POV

"Stars..." I woke up to hear Eren mumbling some words. His eyes were open just a bit- enough so I could see his emerald eyes. "Shooting stars... I wished to see you again... because you were my one and only friend."

Why did a grin come up on my face? I felt it growing wider and bigger. "You remembered..."

"I did. Mikasa... tell me... what did you wish for? I want to know... you never finished your sentence... what were you gonna wish for?"

Should I tell him the truth... or hide it? Well, I guess there was no other reason for me to lie. I fell asleep next to him, and my guess was that Eren knew as well. "Well... I wished to be with you for the longest time." I say with a smile growing on my face. "And look at that... we came back together."

He nods and gave a small smile. "Yeah... yeah we did."

"Still want to be strong?"

"Right now...? Well..." Eren sighed heavily, running his fingers through his messy brown hair. His eyes were full with disappointment and... and... well, I don't know what else to add. It was almost like he was... haunted by something. "Kinda want things to be over now."

"Over?"

Eren nods gently, shaking his hair. "Yeah. Everything's been the same, honestly... get a mission, kill, collect. Over and over... it gets... tiresome. I just want a break from the repetitiveness. Do you ever get bored?"

"Not in the slightest. Yes, it does get repetitive, but the fun lies in there." I say gently, curling up to him. "But right now, it doesn't matter. What matters is you and-".

"Whoa... me?" He chuckles and sits up. "Me? I know I didn't want to be hunted down or anything... but, as of right now... I can start a new life after all of this. How would you feel if... I was no longer Eren Jaeger?"

"Eren..."

He chuckles gently, a shimmering facade fell on him as he began to speak a bit more. "I'm joking, I'm joking, Mikasa. Don't worry, I'm not gonna die. How else would I spend my time with you?" He smiles gently and leans towards me with his hand stern on my chin.

My heartbeat was pumping loudly, and drowning out any other noise than Eren's voice. I tried to speak, but nothing came out. My voice was caught in my throat. As I breathed heavily, I could feel my body getting warm. Eren chuckled at me, and I saw his emerald eyes as stars.

"How is it... seeing you like this? You used to be strong, but right now... you look like you've fallen for me. Come to think of it... you did tell me that you wanted to be with me... we were so young... why me?"

"You..." I lost control over my voice. "I wanted you because... you were my only friend..." I smiled gently and nuzzled my head into his warm chest. His warmth crawled up into me, and I wanted to fall asleep in his arms.

"Is that true...?" He chuckles softly as his arms pulled me close. "Can I be honest with you, Mikasa?" What did I say to him...? I just murmured some sort of words for him to continue. "You were always my friend- always my first friend... so..." On my forehead, I felt his heavy kiss. "I will always love you... that I will promise you."
