Ok so I do not own Harry Potter.
I want to preface this chapter with a warning. There is talk of selfharm. I not in any form or fashion glorifying it. I am acknowledging the real feelings behind it. I do also reference rape. I also know that there are a number of good faith-based summer camps and support programs. This is from my nightmares.
"Well it's complicated. They did adopt a child and it was you but technically it was an illegal adoption. This is due to the fact that neither myself nor your godmother were notified and we both have a claim as your rightful guardian," Mr. Solomon says.
"Oh well umm could I have a few days with them," Connor asked nervously.
The adults all smile at the child. "Of course, Professor Holden will return you to the Simmons and check in on you the day after," Mrs. Solomon says hugging him.
"What about finals? My parents, I mean the Simmons will be angry if I come back without taking them," Connor says.
End flashback
Professor McGonagall smiles, "Well maybe you should have been sorted into Ravenclaw."
As they reach Professor McGonagall's rooms she opens the door. Kimberley smiles and shakes her head stepping in.
"Heh, it's ok I like the idea of being a Hufflepuff. I was always told hardwork was my best quality," she says with a blush. "And it gives me the sense that I'm connecting with my birth dad a bit."
"Well don't forget your mother," Professor McGonagall says as she waves her wand a kettle starts heating in the fireplace. ", was a Gryffindor."
Kimberley smiles and sits down as a cup of tea floats to her. "Thank you. So what else can you tell me about them?"
"Hmm I remember your mother's first Christmas here. Now remember your mother came from a wizarding household with just your grandmother," Professor McGonagall says.
"Now I was around your mother as she was growing up because your grandmother had been a dear friend for many years. So when Christmas came and your mother wanted to keep her friend, a Hufflepuff who I think you may know, company your grandmother was very proud. Now bear in mind your mother was very dedicated to her school work but if someone messed with one of her friends she got a bit reckless.
"It just so happens that the person who messed with her friend was none other than one particular group of students known for their pranks. They were James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin. The resulting chain of events resulted in a prank war that drew in all the other houses.
"Wait James Potter, as in Harry, Boy Who Lived, Potter," Kimberley interrupts.
"The very same," Professor McGonagall says with a smile. "Have you met Mr. Potter yet?"
Kimberley nods, "In the library, he and a red haired boy were looking for a book about something. He was nice I just felt like something was off with his magic and his behaviors."
