I do not own Harry Potter or Illvermorny.

Christmas morning came all too soon. Still it was her first Christmas as Kimberley and one she will always remember. The gifts from her friends and god families were wonderful.

Helen sent her a bracelet saying 'Sisters'. Kim smiles at that because she had ordered a bracelet through Professor Holden one that said Best Friends. Miss Solomon had sent a beautiful, yellow and blue dress (pictured) and a book on magical bloodlines.

Mister Solomon had sent her a purse with a magical extension charm that had a scrapbook in it of her parents. Andrew sent her a set of charmed scented quills that would release calming aromas for stressed students.

She smiles as she watched Professor McGonagall open a selection of teas in a mug with the Parthenon on it.

"Umm, I know it's not that personal, but I thought between the weather here, and well tea is so wonderful. and Umm, you know your name being Minerva, the Roman name of Athena," she says looking down.

Professor McGonagall looks at the girl with a smile. She had tried to find a simple and practical gift for someone she barely knew anything about.

"Well I love it, practical yet it shows thought.  I take it you know your mythology, then," the Assistant Headmistress asks.

"Yes it was one of my favorite areas to study in my gifted program in elementary school," Kimberley says with a smile and nod.

"Well my dear, are you going to open the gift from me," McGonagall asks.

"Oh right, Umm, where is it," Kim asks looking around.

"Check behind the tree dear," McGonagall says with a smile.

As she pulls out the tall package the excitement is clear. McGonagall hadn't had to spent much time with the girl before knowing she was a flier.

"No way," Kim says and starts unwrapping it. "A broomstick? My own real broomstick," Kim asks her excitement palatable.

"Well I heard you took quite well to your flying classes, and what good is being a godmother if I can't spoil you a little," McGonagall smiles. "Now have you had the chance to play Quidditch yet?"

"Yep, one of the older Thunderbirds insisted everyone in our group spend some time on the field, I mean pitch to find out if any of us would be worth training as alternates," Kim says shaking her head as her voice pitches. "Sorry about that," she says with a blush.

McGonagall smiles at her. "It's alright, it happens to everyone."

"Really? I mean to natural girls, too," Kim says looking down.

"Dear, who told you you weren't a natural girl," McGonagall asks worriedly.

"A couple of the girls back at Illvermorny, I mean I figured it was something to do with you know," Kim says pointing between her legs ashamed.

"Listen to me," McGonagall starts and sees the girl tense at her tone. "You are my goddaughter. You have been and will always be the girl delivered to someone I saw as a daughter. You are her, forever and always in my book and heart. Your unfortunate transfiguration was that and the fact that you survived such an ordeal is impressive.

"Now, I know we haven't spent much time together but I have talked your teachers at Illvermorny. They tell me you are a kind, gentle girl who is a dedicated student and friend.  Since you got here you have displayed such kindness I swear I am looking at your father." Kim smiles at that and wipes tears from her eyes.

"Now I think it is time we head down to the Great Hall and enjoy some of the festivities," McGonagall says.

As they walk into the Great Hall McGonagall smiles at the look of bliss and wonder on Kim's face. She leaves her at the Hufflepuff table and is comforted by how the other students welcome her.

The rest of the visit was very fun for Kim. The other Hufflepuffs were really welcoming and only a few were leery of her. She chalked it up to her godmother who was known for being strict. Cedric was very nice and so were a few others.

Still she couldn't help looking at Harry and worrying. The day before she was due to leave she approached him. She had rehearsed what she was going to say for a while. She took a big breath and walked up to him as he was talking with Ron.

"Umm hi Harry," Kim starts. "I'm Kimberley Shebani, but you can call me Kim. We met in the library."

"Oh right, you're Professor McGonagall's goddaughter," Harry starts.

"Wait, aren't you the one who everyone thought died," Ron starts.

"Yep," Kim says with a nod.

"Umm Harry, can we talk," Kim asks.

"Sure, about what," Harry asks.

"Well you remind me a lot of how I was last year so I know some of the signs," Kim says.

She sees Harry tense up. She pulls out a scrap of parchment and hands it to him.

"That is the number for my godfather and a mailing address. I know what it's like growing up around No-Maj I mean Muggles. You can drop a letter in the mail and even when I move back to England I'll get it forwarded. If you want to talk about anything.

"I mean you kind of know my story," Kim says with a shrug.

The boys share a look and shake their heads.

"Only that you were adopted by Muggles under the wrong name and McGonagall is your godmother," Harry says.

"Ok well, I, the curse, so to speak that killed my parents and other people transfigured my body. This was such a complete change that no one recognized me as who I was until my magic became strong enough to fight it off.

"I think something similar happened to you and your scar isn't the only thing that changed on your body," she says. "So if you need someone to talk to I can listen. I know what it's like to live with people who don't like magic."

"Umm, thanks," Harry says.

Kim turns and walks away from the boys. Harry looked at the parchment stunned.

"How did she know about the Dursleys much less..." Harry thought.
