Terrence leaned back against the couch. He watched as Kazuki and Juniper talked about various topics. It made him happy to see the two get along so well. They were his friends, after all.

He found himself reflecting on their time together. It seemed like only yesterday when he and Kazuki met Juniper for the first time, and vice versa. And over time, they learned each other's stories and played many Turf Wars together. Honestly, someone would think that the trio had known each other for years.

He zoned out while reminiscing, but snapped back to the present when he felt something on his right shoulder. He looked over to see Kazuki had leaned onto him and closed his eyes.

"Tired?" he asked his best friend.

"A little," the Octoling replied as he got comfortable.

"You should sleep in your bed, then," Terrance said.

Kazuki didn't make much of an effort to move from his current spot. "...but you're comfy..."

"..."

The poor Inkling boy couldn't forge a counter for that, so he just let his friend stay on his shoulder. He was about to relax again when he felt something on his left shoulder. He groaned in slight annoyance.

The new shoulder occupant spoke up after a minute. "...he's right, you are comfy."

"..."

Once again he had no counter.

"Um..." The Inkling girl hesitated. "I'll get off if you want me to."

Terrance thought about it. "...you two can stay I guess..."

Hearing the note of approval, the two cephalopods made themselves comfortable on the respective shoulder that they lay their heads upon. Terrance didn't think much of it until the pressure on his shoulders increased a little. He glanced between the two. It didn't take him long to realize that they had both fallen asleep. It also didn't take him long to realize that he had accidentally trapped himself by agreeing to let his friends stay where they were.

Not the best idea, in retrospect.

There wasn't anything he could do about it now, so he just let it be. Sure, he could wake them up, but he didn't want to disturb them. Instead, he made himself comfortable. Might as well, he figured. He closed his eyes.

He was already asleep by the time someone placed a blanket over him and his companions.
