the next day arrived soon, and taehyun was almost excited to see eric. beomgyu was just ready to do the bfffpa, also known as the best friend forever's future partner evaluation (he couldn't think if anything better to call it).

"just call it the fpa — the future partner evaluation. the bff part is useless," taehyun sighed as they neared the school building.

"but we need to confirm that i'm doing a bfffpa, not just any fpa," beomgyu defended his acronym strongly. "but that's beside the point. today i will evaluate your crush—"

"not a crush."

"— and hopefully he'll seem perfect."

taehyun shrugged and looked around the school grounds with a careful eye. "he's a good guy. i can tell he is, because he was just so adorable."

"well, i've only seen him around, we've never spoken, but he's friend with oh heejun, and that guy is up to no good. you know, heejun failed a middle school grade and a high school grade, and got into trouble countless times for fighting. if your prince eric is so perfect, why does he hang out with problems?"

"your company doesn't decide what type of person you are," taehyun said, defending eric as much as he could. "i mean, look at us. you hang out with me and i'm trouble."

"yeah, but you're funny, sarcastic trouble," beomgyu reasoned with a point of his finger. "but we'll see. we'll see how this eric fellow really is."

taehyun shrugged. "maybe."

they arrived at the spot they usually sat in the mornings — they had arrived 20 minutes earlier, as usual, and this gave them time to sit on the school wifi for the time being. taehyun scrolled through reddit while beomgyu scrolled through instagram like the attractive bitch he was.

just like that, he managed to to take a selfie with 'snow' and posted it immediately. taehyun shook his head — he would have to take a selfie 200 times, delete 199, feel insecure about the last one and delete it as well. that's why his instagram was dry, while beomgyu got a like every two seconds.

"when is this boyfriend of yours arriving so i can judge him?" beomgyu asked with a sigh exasperation. he looked around with cautious eyes before gasping. "oh. that's him!"

taehyun turned sideways and blushed slightly. he saw the senior male walking towards him. eric smiled softly and waved at taehyun. the male soon caught up with taehyun and stood beside the bench they sat at.

"m-morning, taehyun," he smiled shyly. taehyun waved with a more confident smile than him, but he was still bashful as well. "uh… hi, beomgyu. fancy seeing you here."

beomgyu sent a judging glance. "likewise."

eric raised an eyebrow, but shook off the feeling beomgyu had given him. "uhm… ready for our date this afternoon?"

beomgyu frowned. "date? mate, you didn't say anything a—"

"yeah, i'm ready," taehyun smiled, cutting beomgyu off immediately. "i haven't really gone on a date before, so i hope this one will be great."

eric's expression beamed with excitement. "great. i'll text you the details, but i kind of have to go to my history teacher about a project, so… i'll get your number later."

taehyun smiled. "i can't wait."

eric smiled widely and left them with a polite bow. beomgyu widened his eyes in shock. "date?! you didn't say anything about a date!"

"if only you could be strong enough and approach jiyeong noona like eric approached me. you're a pathetic disappointment."

"and you're a liar."
