I just kissed a statue

I just kissed a statue. What the heck I actually kissed a statue! But I can't believe I  just kissed a male sculpture!

The man was breathing heavily that I can literally see how his back moves from up to down in order to capture more air. When he finally noticed my presence, he started walking towards me and I crawled my way back until my head hit the hard wall. Did I just release an evil entity? He pulled out his sword on his scabbard, which is basically a holster for swords, and pointed the slashing apparatus on my neck.

"Pionnesion franose decitist unfirmator! Jerons vadang aut tirener framen recomphs. Paravicele tapiche misguinty undenus?"

Uhm. What? He was speaking a language I don't understand. "Malatuits undenus?" he continued and pressed the tip of his sword further into my neck. I think he just slit one of my veins there.

I think he wants me to say something but unfortunately, the language barrier is gonna be the cause of my death. "What? I can't understand you!" I said.

He returned the sword on his scabbard and sighed. "A mortal. I should have known." he muttered.

"Wow! You can actually speak English, thank god!" I exclaimed and heaved a sigh of relief. Finally we can reach an understanding and I can explain my side.

"Of course. We can speak and understand any language." he answered in a matter-of-fact type of way. "Now, speak before I cut your head off!"

Okay. I guess we're not one hundred percent safe. I stood up and dusted the dirt off my pants. "I mean, what do you want me to say?"

"Who are you and what have you done to me? Are you a partisan of the evil Galura?"

"I think I just freed you from your curse. No, I'm not a partisan of the evil Galura. And by the way, who's the evil Galura?" he looks at me for a second, probably contemplating if I was saying the truth but after a moment, his eyebrows crinkled and he was glaring at me. Holy moly I'm sensing that I'm in a big trouble here.

"What do you mean to say you freed me from the curse?" he growled.

I lowered my gaze. I don't want to say this but he leaves me no choice.

"I followed the instruction in the engravings..." My throat was desert dry now so I did a nervous gulp before dropping the bomb on him. "I-I kissed you."

"You what?" he screamed at me. "What else did you do?" He demanded answer and stepped closer to me.

I stepped back before responding. "I mentioned your name."

His face was painted with shock and pure terror from what he just heard. Obviously that's not a good sign. He immediately looked at his wrist and from then on his expression changed from shock to anger. I immediately flinched when I saw his fingers curled into a fist. Or I guess fury? I was expecting his punch to land on my face but he returned to the plinth and knelt to read its content. I can hear him whispering as he ran his fingers on the engravings. I saw him read it twice and I was startled when he suddenly kicked the marble base repeatedly while cursing under his breath. I guess this would be the time that I should run for my life?
