"Today I'm finally going to the Final Selection." I talked to myself as I combed my long (h/c) hair.
Preparing some bandages and fixing up my outfit, my thoughts were interrupted as I heard my name being called."(y/n)-san! Let's go before we leave you behind!" Sabito teased.
Walking outside of my small room with irritation, I saw Urokodaki sensei approached us holding out 3 different fox masks. Although I tried best to switch my focus from pink-hair male, he kept staring at me with a grin on his face. We all knew I took the longest to prepare, but who can blame me, I need my own personal space.
I tried to ignore him from his gaze at that moment. It was like being poked at the side of my head repeatedly. Using my will power, I blurred his figure before bringing my attention back to the masks. Each one had a certain style that personalizes everyone of his disciples. Grabbing the fox mask with lotus flower petals surrounding it, I smiled as I wrapped the red rope around my head.
"These masks are called 'warding mask'," Urokodaki explained as he sees us putting it on, "I've charged it up with a spell to protect you from harm."
He then grabbed a folded material behind him as he handed it to me, "I personally made this haori for you (y/n)."
Unfolding the silk material, it was a light pink haori with white petals falling towards the ground. I couldn't imagine the time he placed creating these. With happiness I never felt since I lost my parents, I hugged Urokodaki sensei grateful for all the gifts he gave us. The feeling of warmth envelope me before the thought of the Final Selection came to my mind. Fear started to cripple up my spine as I slowly let go of the hug.
Feeling a hand on my shoulders, I looked up towards the male, giving me a sympathetic smile. Giyuu has gone through so many things before he arrived here. The pain was always visible in his eyes as he tried to smile and laugh it away with me and Sabito. Although he never tells anyone of us, his touches were always full of emotions. Emotions that I was grateful for him to share.
"Giyuu, thank you," I replied with a smile back. Walking outside, we all wore our fox masks before going towards the rice fields.
"Thank you sensei," we all said in unison as we walked to the Final Selection.
~8 Hours Later~
Although it took a while to arrive at the location, the scent of flowers hitting our nostrils told us how close we are. I mean, who wouldn't have known they were close to the Examination. The scent was like being slapped at the nose.
"I'm guessing it's up there," Giyuu announced pointing up towards the stairs. Looking at him, a sweat dropped from his forehead, allowing a sigh to escape.
Laughing from his reaction, I nudged his back lightly making him stumble a bit. "Thanks (y/n)-san, I really needed that." Giyuu sarcastically said smiling.
"Anything for you Giyuu." I grinned fluttering my eyelashes at him.
Sabito then looked at us with one eyebrow raised up. "Get a room you too before I leave you here."
A pull onto my haori brought my attention to the ebony-haired male. Bringing my attention to Giyuu, he kept his hand onto the pink fabric, staring towards the ground.
"Well anyway, let's go before it starts." I smiled, snatching both of their hands.
Once we almost reached the top, purple trees then started to appear more frequently. More and more lavender flowers then started to appear on the ground as we arrive between two red pillars.
