Logan groaned softly under me, causing me to wake up. I looked behind me and saw that Rina was still asleep. Thank God. I ran my fingers through his hair, kissing his forehead. Yes, we may hate each other at times, but we still our sympathy for each other. His heart started to race and his breaths started to grow short. I winced and placed my hands on the sides of his neck, pressing our foreheads together. "Listen to my voice. Everything's gonna be okay, Logan." I comforted him softly while he was having a bad dream. I repeated the words until I knew he was okay.
I ran fingers over the bite mark that I caused, causing him to wake. He looked at me then buried his head back into my neck, "Don't leave me." "I didn't plan to." I responded. His heart was racing and I wasn't for sure why. I only listened to it grow faster and faster.
"We need to go to school." He whispered into my ear. I nodded before getting off his lap. He got up and stretched. I looked over at the figure of his sleeping mother. A small smile appeared across my face but was completely wiped away when Rina punched my shoulder. "What the hell?!" I whispered at her. "You were on my man." She whispered back. Logan was already gone out in the hallway.
"Logan isn't an object." I hissed as I walked out of the room. "Yeah, but he's my best friend!" She snapped. I turned around and felt my fangs grow sharp, "He's no one's best friend. He doesn't have friends. Not after what you did to him last year at homecoming."
She looked down and walked slower. I caught up to him and put my hand on his arm to stop him from walking. "Rina. Get. Your. Hand. Off." He growled. "You must really hate her." I spoke. He looked at me then looked forward, "Thank God, it's you." "What's bothering you?" I asked. Why do I care for all of the sudden? Yeah, he's my ex-best friend but why? "I was listening through mind link.." He looked down in guilt. I don't blame him for listening in on the argument. He must've grew worried about why we were gone. "Exactly right." He responded. "Shit-" I sighed. "And you care cause- you're- nevermind.." He contemplated on his words but kept walking.
"You could've waited up on me, you know?!" Rina screamed at Logan. "Maybe if you didn't argue with Tyler then maybe, just maybe I wouldn't have left." He responded. "I wouldn't-" "No. You did. Don't lie to me, because lying to me is the last thing you can do." I grabbed his hand in a supporting manner and looked at her. She glared at me then pushed me away from him. Logan growled loudly, his eyes were yellow, and he glowered at the both of us, "Do not put your hands on Tyler ever." She rolled her eyes and walked off. "Logan.." I spoke softly. "Stay away from me." He snapped.
"I'm not leaving you."
"I said to stay away, Tyler!"
I grabbed him by his wrist and pulled him into the woods. He looked at me and pushed me back against a tree, "You need to listen to what I say." I watched him as his grip loosened then falling to the ground. "I don't want you to see me." He snarled. I shook my head and jumped up into the tree.Brown fur started to cover his body as he started to scream. Why does this hurt to even watch? I carefully watched over as he fully transformed. I jumped down and looked at him, he stepped back, looking at me. I put my hands up in defense, "I'm not going to hurt you." He turned back, still looking at me. I slowly grabbed his hands as I kneeled down in front of him. He jerked his hands away, starting to shake. "Logan.." I spoke softly. "Don't touch me. I don't want to hurt you." He responded.
I slowly nodded and got up. He got up and started to walk, I slowly started to walk behind him. "I'm sorry." He said bluntly. "You haven't done anything wrong." I stated. "I shouldn't have lashed out like that on you or Rina."
"It's fine. I-"
"No, it's not fine."
"But-"
"Look. You're more important than you think you are. You can't just let every little thing I do slide. Okay?"
"Okay."
He turned around, looking at the distance between us, murmuring something under his breath. We walked into the school and went our separate ways to our lockers. I felt a loss of tension once I got far away from him. Why does it matter? I haven't really understood what's been going on but I had a feeling since we rekindled the flame. The feeling's just been there. I closed my locker then next thing I know, I'm pinned up against the lockers. One of Logan's football teammates, looked down at me, "You made our best player go soft. We warned him and now look where we are." I could feel the sensation of low growls coming fro. each one. "You can still win a game. Logan hasn't gone "soft," he plays every play by play by ear. That's how he is." I looked up at him. Next thing I knew, my head hit the back of the lockers causing me to groan.
"Dude! You weren't supposed to do that to him!" One of the boys snapped. "And what's the big deal about it, Luke?" The other growled.
"He's Logan's you know.."
"So? He needs to learn how to keep his boundaries with Logan."
Luke growled and pinned him back against the wall, "Tyler doesn't need to have boundaries with Logan. He's the Alpha's mate. I'm Logan's Beta. You're just a Hunter, Adrian.""Get up." The stern voice spoke to me. I opened my eyes, seeing Logan kneeling down in front of me, exposing his yellowish gold eyes. I grasped his hand, groaning as I stood up. I touched the back of my head, looking at my fingers that were now bloody. He picked me up, going as fast as he could to an empty classroom. "Stay still." He whispered. I nodded slowly and watched over him. He placed his hand over the cut and closed his eyes. I felt warmth run through the back of my head and smiled a little. "Done." He spoke. I looked at him then felt the back of my head. No blood.
"Me and you need to talk, immediately."
