"Cordelia. If you don't move your ass faster, I'm not driving you to school!"

I scowl and jump down the last three stairs of our staircase. I grab my jacket from the coat rack and run towards the door where my brother is waiting for me. As I pass by him, I punch him rather hard in the bicep. He groans in pain and holds his arm while closing the door behind him.

"Call me that horrendous name again, I'll claw your eyes out and feed them to French Fry." I mutter, causing him to roll his eyes.

"Whatever, be lucky that Dad makes me drive you to school." Josh glares at me.

He knows how much I hate my name, but he only uses it on me when I'm in trouble or to get on my nerves.

I hop inside of his rundown truck and slam the door closed behind me. I slump in the seat and cross my arms, soon being joined by Josh.

"You break it, you buy it." He refers to my door slamming and pushes my head to the side as he backs out of the drive way.

I glare at his dashboard as he says those words, he's kind of being a hypocrite. "Well, you should have paid for a new classroom when you convinced those girls to trash it." I grumble. He automatically tenses and we sit in a heavy silence for the rest of the ride to school.

He pulls up into the parking lot of our new school and parks the truck.

"Cori." He says, not looking at me. I stare at him as his blue eyes stay looking forward. "I won't cause trouble, so you don't cause trouble. Deal? This is your first year of high school, I don't want us to trash what's left of it." He says and I can hear hints of guilt in his voice.

Hell yeah, he better feel guilty! He caused a ruckus at our school that had all of our friends, but then again I did my fair share as well. I guess that we should both put our rebellious attitudes on leashes.

"Are you going to try out for lacrosse?" I question before hopping out of the truck, swinging my backpack on to my shoulder.

"Yeah, don't know what I'd do if I didn't play." Josh turns and it's then that I realize his lacrosse stick was in the bed of the truck, along with his gym bag.

I hold onto my bags and walk alongside him into the school. We moved to Beacon Hills because my dad was getting worried when Josh and I would cause trouble at our old school. And now we have to make new fiends in a foreign environment which sucked.

As we walk, I notice some of the students staring at us. No duh, me and Josh are very good looking. And I don't mean to sound cocky or bratty or anything, but it's a part of our genes. My dad is very handsome and the pictures that I've seen of my mother showed her as a beautiful blonde woman with dazzling green eyes.

Josh and I inherited her luscious blonde hair, although he got Dad's blue eyes. Meanwhile, I got very light brown eyes. Don't ask how I got them, Dad being half human has it's downfalls.

"This is going to be a good year. I just know that it's going to be special." Josh smiles. "I'll make the lacrosse team but hopefully I won't hurt anyone." His smile falters.

"And if you don't make the team, maybe you could... persuade the coach?" I wiggle my eyebrows at him.

He scoffs and pushes me by the shoulder, "The way you said that sounded so gross! And I'm not going to use my powers on him, that's cheating and I'm too good for that. I only use it for fun, not for cheating." He grumbles.

We walk into the school and I watch as all of the students gape at us. We must look like supermodels, strutting how we are.

Because we transferred so quickly, we're starting a couple of days later than everyone else.

I continue to bask in the drooling gazes of many boys until a weird smell infiltrates my nose. I scrunch my nose, "Ugh, do you smell that?" I turn towards my older brother.

He raises his hands as best he can in fake surrender, "I swear I took a shower! And yeah, I had to use French fry's dog shampoo because mine's missing, but you always say that he-!"

"That's not what I'm tal-! You used dog shampoo?! What are you, an idiot?" I slap him upside the head before rolling my eyes and walking to my locker.

I open it using my combination and begin to fill it with everything that I'll need for the school year.

"And no, not your canine smell." I sigh as he leans against the lockers next to mine. "Maybe you can't smell it yet because it's not that strong, but it smells almost like... I don't know, it's really musky and making my nose itch." I sneeze and rub my nose.

"Well let's hurry up. Tryouts are starting and you know that swimming tryouts are tomorrow after school." I nod and follow Josh out to the lacrosse field. It's not like I have anything better to do. Besides, this is only a slight warmup for the guys to get back in the groove; tryouts started two days ago. Josh has a lot of catching up to do if he wants to make the team.

I go to sit on the bleachers when the odd smell hits me again. I look around, trying to find the source of the smell when I lock eyes with a boy on the field. He doesn't look like a freshman or sophomore, so he must be an upperclassman. He doesn't smell like a human but he doesn't smell like me or Josh either. He's the one with the musky smell.

We have a little stare down, but I'm brought from my thoughts when Josh pops up in front of me.

"Hey, I was wondering if you could hold mom's bracelet for me. I don't want it to get lost while I'm playing." He says before dropping a turquoise beaded bracelet in my hands. I look up at him in surprise before standing up.

"Josh, that smell. It's a werewolf." I whisper to him but when I glance at the wolf, his eyes are wide so I guess he heard me. I look into Josh's eyes and see them grow a little bigger too. He merely nods at me before going in to the field.

I sit on the bleachers again watch the tryouts very intensely. The wolf and a human are watching my brother very closely, making me want to sneer at them but I restrain myself.

The whole practice, a freshman kept pretty much showing the upperclassmen up. And considering he was a human, he was seriously talented. Practice ended and I wait outside of the boys locker room for Josh. It won't be hard for me to make friends, but my big brother gives me a sense of comfort.

I lean against the wall and play a game on my phone, minding my own business when it's snatched from my hands. "Hey!" I look up to see the two boys who were watching Josh and the freshman all practice. Wolfie and Lame boy.

"I'll take that, thank you very much." Lame boy smiles before waving it in my face, "You'll get this after we're done talking." I glare at the both of them. "So what are you? A-A were-cat? A were-tiger? What else is there? A were-panda? Is that a thing? I honestly don't know anymo-!"

I frown at them, not minding since they both know of the supernatural. I look down the halls to see them empty, looking back once the coast is clear. I allow my eyes to glow gold as my scales slowly show up on my face. Not a lot, just a patch or two around my eyes.

They stare at me as I retract them. While they're in shock, I snatch my phone and walk away.

"Name's Cori, assholes! Try and test me, see if you're alive the next day. Have a lovely afternoon!"

This will be interesting.
