Cordelia and her brother are mer-people. No, not Sirens. Those are two completely different beings and will make them pissed if you confuse them with one another.
Moving into Beacon Hills along with their father was a lot more interesting than t...
"Are you mental?!" Josh shouts at me as we stand in between the buses. I told him of the whole encounter, and he doesn't seem too happy. Especially since it was three days ago and they've been practically stalking us.
"Well, we might as well tell them what we are. They know about the supernatural, he knows that we know about the supernatural, I just saved us from the annoying nagging of curious doofs, so a thank you would be nice!" I flash my eyes at him, causing him to lightly pull a strand of my hair in order to distract me from throwing a hissy fit.
And it's true, those guys would only continue to question us and follow us around. So telling them would save us the torture.
"What's done is done. Oh well." I shrug and lean against the buses. My brother groans and holds his face, "Cori, you could have at least consulted me! Or even dad!"
I hold myself by my elbows and shrug, "You know how I get when I'm annoyed." I defend myself but sigh once I realize this banter is utterly useless. "You go talk with the big kids about what secrets we need to keep and go ahead and form an alliance. You know the ritual." I mutter while rubbing my temples as a headache comes on.
Josh is quiet for a moment, making me happy at the silence. I feel his arms wrap around me and pull me into a hug. He holds me tight, "Alright, I'll talk with them. You go for a swim. You haven't gone in almost three weeks." I keep my eyes closed and feel Josh place his lips on my head, giving me a quick kiss.
I nod and walk off, heading towards the small pond near my house. Even though we live on the edge of a lake, our pond is closer to the school which means me and Josh can go cool off whenever needed.

I take off my dress, leaving me in my underwear. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about anyone seeing me because this is private property. I take my Bobby pins out that we're holding my hair up and toss them on top of my dress before taking my sandals off.
Being half naked, I dive into the water with ease. I never get used to shifting. I enter the water, the feeling of it making me smile in relief. I swim a little deep before allowing my tail to form.
My legs stick together like someone glued them, then I get the tickle-itch-like feeling as my scales form in my skin. My feet become almost weightless as they form into fins, swishing around beautifully. The tickle feeling spreads all the way up to my abdomen, and I feel some scales appear on my cheeks. I look down in awe as I look at my scales once more. Right now, my scales near my abdomen are purple while they ombré down to my tail. It goes from purple to navy blue, then turquoise before it ombré's again.

Sometimes my colors change or shift whenever I shed my scales. It doesn't hurt when they shed, but I'll wake up one morning to them scattered all over my bed like dandruff.
I swim around, allowing my hair to swish as I feel the water move around me. It feels so much better in the water than it does in the air! If I could, I would live in water. Sadly, us mermaids aren't like the fairytales. We can go under water for a long time with us having our small gills, but we can't survive longer than a few months. Our kind used to hide in the deep ocean from hunters, but they resurfaced whenever they could.
I'm relaxing underwater, 'sitting' on a rock while watching fish swim by when I feel my brother come near. I feel his presence on the bank but frown when he doesn't join me, my only guess could be that he wants me to surface. I roll my eyes and use my tail swim towards the sunlight. I get to the top and push my hair out of my face when I see him. I know that my eyes are golden and I have some scales here and there because that's what always happens when I transform.
I guess these other supernaturals have never seen a mermaid before because all of their eyes widen.
I sigh when I see a lot of upperclassmen. I make my way towards the bank and rest my arms and head on one of the rocks.
"I didn't know there were this many of them." I frown and glance at Josh who shrugs.
Wolfie and Lame boy are here but there's three girls and a man here with them this time. The man has bright blue eyes and jet black hair with an incoming mustache and beard. One girl is a redhead that I've heard people call Lydia, and the other two I'm not so sure about. I recognize both of them, one of them being the weird girl that people say says disturbing things. The other was the daughter of a teacher. That's all I knew.
I raise my eyebrow at them in question.
"Oh, yes. She'll do. She'll do perfectly." Lame boy smiles down at me.
"Umm... what?"

"Sure, use the good looking freshman to trap another good looking freshman." Cori mutters to herself as she walks down the hall of the second floor. She had talked with a lot of kids at school and learned the schedule of the boy she was supposed to trap. She had actually seen him quite a bit during either lacrosse practice or during lunch. He was really hot.
Cori turns the corner and walks down the stairs. As she's walking, she can feel her hair flow behind her, tucking some strands behind her ear. She looks up and meets eyes with Liam Dunbar, standing dumbstruck in the middle of the hallway. A small smile graces her plump pink lips, her big brown eyes staring into his own blue ones.
Not as upset about the whole ordeal as before, Cordelia makes her way through the hallway towards the boy who wouldn't break eye contact. She gets there and it's like a switch goes off in Liam's mind. All of a sudden, he's very aware of everyone around him but he doesn't care about them. He only wants to be looking at the beautiful angelic girl in front of him.
Cori stares into his light blue eyes, finding them almost innocent. His spiky light brown hair begging her to run her hands through it. It takes Cori a moment to snap out of her daze and focus on the task at hand again.
"Um, hi! I'm Cordelia- uh, Cori. Please don't call me Cordelia." The blonde girl stutters, smiling and shaking her head at herself. Although she's embarrassed for telling him her actual name, Liam likes seeing her flustered and the light blush that appeared on her cheeks.
"Um, I-I'm Liam." He barely gets the words out and shifts his backpack in nervousness.
"I know, you're on the lacrosse team with my brother!" Cori shows off her pearly whites. Liam nods as he recalls seeing Cori with a junior. "So, Liam." The name naturally rolls off of Cori's tongue and she liked the way it felt.
Liam's heart sped up when she said his name, although the girl couldn't tell due to her ability limitations.
"I was wondering... maybe you'd like to be my date to this party I'm going to?" Cori bites her lip. Even though this is a set up, Cori was actually afraid he'd reject her. "I mean, you don't have to if you have plans but I thought it'd be good to get to know you-! That sounds weird, sorry." She shakes her head again, holding her forehead in embarrassment. Liam grins at the Cori as she tries to speak to him, "I just thought- you know, since you and my brother are on the lacrosse team together and we're in the same grade... I don't know. I could use having another friend and you seem really nice and cu- nice! You seem super duper nice."
Liam laughs at Cori which makes the blonde blush bright red. "Um, I'd have to see if I have plans..." Liam shrugs. He wanted to seem cool in front of the girl.
Cori works her magic and slumps her shoulders in 'disappointment', pouting her lip out a little. "Oh. If you're busy, I can go and maybe try asking Kyl-..."
"Actually I think I can go!" Liam blurts out, not wanting another boy to go with Cori.
Said girl instantly cheers up and grabs his arm in excitement. "Great! Here," she says before taking a pen out from her pocket. She motions for Liam to give her his hand before she writes down her phone number. "Text me and I'll send you the details, okay?" She smiles before winking at the brunet.
Cori walks away with Liam staring after her in awe. He looks down to see that she wrote her number in a baby blue pen with her name and a heart.
He smiles to himself and walks to his next class with a pep in his step.
