Jimin woke up the next morning with a splitting headache. Throat parched and the surrounding too bright. Typical hangover symptoms. Jimin groaned as he sat up on the bed. He looked around trying to comprehend everything, how he wasn't at his home, in dire need of a shower and some greasy food. But what caught his attention was the spare clothes along with a toothbrush placed near his feet. And a small smile crept on his face knowing who must have been behind that. Jungkook.
Jimin can't even deny now that there has been a shift in their relationship in the last few months. Now he too could see that there might be more to them than just taking care of Soobin. But thinking about Soobin, Jimin couldn't remember when was the last time he saw Soobin. He clearly remember searching for him and then blank.
"God..! I am never hanging out with those two idiots again. " He groaned once more and jumped out of the bed to get ready. Internally, he knew Soobin was fine because Jungkook would have raised hell otherwise. But the headache was killing him and he didn't like how he has grown so irresponsible, so he made a pledge to cut down his alcohol intake when he went searching for food and some aspirin downstairs.
He saw his mother in law and Jungkook already in the dining table, breakfast laid out. He joined them but couldn't see Soobin anywhere.
"Where is Binnie? "
Jungkook had just opened his mouth to answer but his mother cut him off.
"In this house.. We greet one another first.."
"Oh.. I mean.. " Jimin didn't have any problems with greetings and protocols but it was highly unlikely not to have Soobin next to him so he didn't think about that a lot.
"Keep your excuses to yourself.. Jimin.. I don't even know what are you teaching to my grandson.."
Now that was unwarranted. Jimin had no idea why he was being attacked so early in the morning.
"Jimin.. Binnie is outside playing... " Jungkook replied calmly focused on his food.
"Did he eat? "
But all Jimin could hear a scoff in return. From his mother in law..
"Jimin.. It's okay you don't have to put up your act here.. "
"Excuse me? "
"You act all caring and attentive when others are involved don't you.. But I see through your facade.."
Bewildered Jimin wanted to ask back what she really meant by that statement but he was scared. Deep down he knew it would be something ugly.
"Mom.. Let's not... " Jungkook intercepted before Jimin replied.
"Let's not what ha Kook.. I don't understand what is wrong with you? Don't you care about your own child now..? "
"Mom.. I promise you it's nothing.. I'll talk to both.. Now please.. "
"No.. It's unacceptable. You help Soobin with everything.. You even bring him back home. You don't think I know you have been leaving early for accommodating everything... and what does he do? Get drunk and party..? He couldn't even make him dress yesterday.. For just one event Kook... one.."
"Mom it's not like that.. It's all a misunderstanding.. Let it go please." Jungkook spoke the last words firmly and Jimin still had no idea what was wrong. His mother-in -law looked angry and ready to pounce on him on the first opportunity she got.
"I really don't understand what's happening here.. "
"Of course you don't.. Why would you. He is not your child... you just... "
