PROMISE (JiminXJungkook)

Chapter 5

"Welcome Kook.. and nice to see you Yoongi and Namjoon.. please make yourself comfortable..." Jihee said with a smile as Jungkook arrived with Soobin, Namjoon and Yoongi following him. "And ah.. look who is here.. my baby Binnie.. come to halmeoni.."

Soobin didn't waste his time and immediately clung to his grandmother squeaking something incoherent with her.

Jungkook glanced around to find Jimin, to at least have a talk with him before his parents arrived but he was nowhere to be seen. He knew he had screwed up this morning by not remembering his anniversary but he wanted to apologise and make it better before any of his family got the smell of it.

"Where are others? Jin hyung, Irene noona, dad?"

"Oh.. Irene has a surgery today and rest of them are in office.. they should be here anytime now..."

Jungkook hummed in response to his mother-in-law who was now busy talking with the other two guests.

"Kook.. Jimin is in his room upstairs... you can go in.." Jungkook really wanted to go as soon as possible but he didn't show it. However, time was of the essence so he took the stairs a few moments later.

He arrived at the first floor of the mansion sized house which accommodated all the rooms if the Kim siblings. He doesn't even remember the count he had been there but never felt this uncomfortable before. He passed the common area towards the left to go to Jimin's room but that familiar dull ache in his heart returned as he reached the room he once was so used to visiting. The knew the door wasn't locked but he couldn't gather the courage to go inside it. The ache was almost physical at that point. There was a knot in his throat that he couldn't swallow no matter how hard he tried.

"Jungkook..!"

"Huh?" He was brought out of his daze by the voice of Jimin who was now standing just beside him.

"It's open... if you want to..."

"No.. no.. I.. I was actually searching for you.." Jungkook stammered through the explanation. He couldn't decide if he wanted to go inside that room.

"Okay.. my room is the next one.. you can come in..."

"Yeah.."

Jungkook went inside Jimin's room, the one he might have visited just once before, just before the accident.

"Woah..! To what do I owe the pleasure?" Jimin giggled as he saw Jungkook standing in front of his door, deep in his thoughts.

"Sshh.. don't be so loud.. he doesn't know..."

"What?"

"Let me in.. I'll explain.."

"Hmm.. come in.. did you two fight again?"

"What ?? No... you are talking as if all we do is fight.. we just fought once.. for your information..."

And Jimin rolled his eyes listening to his defence. He wonders if he was always this serious, even around Taehyung.

"Jungkook.. are you here for that... I really want to sleep.. I have early practice tomorrow.."

"Ah.. actually.. can you please stay with Tae for these five days... you know he doesn't sleep well alone... I promise I'll make it up for you.."

Jimin wanted to laugh at Jungkook. He knew about the habit of Tae and would have done that even if Jungkook never mentioned it but since he could gain something, he played along.
