The doorbell rang. I had not been expecting anyone, slowly I opened the door and saw a woman standing there. "Can I help you?" I asked.
" Olivia Yoips," she said "you will die at the graveyard."
I doubled over in laughter, this was obviously a prank, one of my friends had probably paid the woman to say on the day of Halloween.
When I looked up again the woman was gone.
The time now was 7pm, I have plans to meet up with my friends in town to play truth or dare. We have done this every year for the past 5 years.
Meeting up with my friends we start playing. At first the dares are easy and the truths are simple but as the night goes on they get more challenging.
"Polly, truth or dare?" Janice asked.
" Truth" she answered.
"Is it true that you kissed Kelly's boyfriend?" Janice questioned.
" What? N....no of course not! " Polly said rather unconvincingly.
"Olivia," Polly said, choosing me, " truth or dare? "
"Truth" I chose.
"What's the weirdest thing that happened to you today?" She inquired.
"It must have been when the door rang, I answered it and this random lady who I had never seen before told me I would die at the graveyard "
"Did the women say when?" My friend Liam wondered .
"No"
We continued to play the game until it was midnight.
"Liv" said Jess "Truth or Dare?"
because I was feeling adventurous I chose dare.
"I dare you to go and spend 10 minutes in the graveyard"
Everyone gasped.
"I'll come with you if you want." Said Polly, trying to look out for me.
" I'll be fine" I said.
As I entered the graveyard I got this creepy feeling that someone was watching me. Looking around I saw nobody. I am safe, I told myself, I'm not going to die here.
I looked at my watch 12:01, 9 minutes left.
12:02 - 8 minutes left - I'm not going to die today.
12:03 - 7 minutes left,
6 minutes left,
5 minutes left,
That's when I heard it. The crunching of the leaves. I was not alone.
4 minutes left,
I looked around, but couldn't see anything.
3 minutes
I'm almost done here.
2 minutes
I can leave here soon.
I heard a voice "It was nice knowing you"
I screamed as I felt a knife pushed into my back.
I fell to the ground.
With all my remaining strength I turned and looked behind me, squinting in the moonlight, I could just about see her.
"How could you ..."I began, I could feel the blood leaking out of me as my eyes began to close, "why?" I asked before finally giving in to the peaceful slumber.
