Chapter 14: The Truth

Masky's POV

     I barged through the doors in a panting fuse, my mind was racing as much as my heart. Where is Slender?!
     "Masky, what the hell?" Nurse Ann walked over confused. She usually was near the entrance so it would make sense she'd hear me.
     "Where's Slender?!"
     "In his office... where the hell is Toby?" Ann lowered her mask to check me over.
"Thanks Ann! Everything will be explain soon! I promise!" I ran off leaving Ann's question unanswered.
Making my way down the proxy hallway, I could hear Slender talking to someone on the phone. I slowly treaded to the room. I tried to avoid any possible sound coming from my feet.
"I need to know where my proxies are! I'm not playing this game with you again!" I heard Slender remark on the phone. Who was this guy talking to? "What did you do with Toby and Masky?!" He sounded frantic... I'm guessing he knew we were supposed to return a long time ago. How much time had passed anyway? A week? A month? "They!re been gone for a fucking year! For fucks sake Zalgo! Tell me where they are, or else I will come after you... and I won't be alone."
     "A fucking year?!" I loudly whispered to myself. How the hell could I have been gone for a year? What the hell happened?! How long did I stay in that illusion?!
     "Fuck you... I'll gladly come down to hell and drag out my proxies." Slender slammed the phone down. He was breathing heavily and growling to himself. I've never seen him so angry... well I have... when EJ betrayed us.
     I took a deep breath and walked into the office. I mustered up the courage to say, "S-sir?" Goddamnit Tim, you sound like a little girl.
     Slenderman turned around and stared at me. He featureless face seemed more expressionless than ever. (I know that sounds weird, but when you live with the guy for so long... you kinda begin to see a face. Shut up... I know I sound crazy...)
     "Where have you been, Tim?" His voice was bone-chillingly dark and hoarse.
     "I was doing my mission with Toby, but something went wrong and... Alex came back. That part is a blur and I could've sworn I didn't have an episode, but... I saw Jay and Brian... when I got out of this daze, I remember waking up in the forest. That's all I know. I have no idea where the kid is."
     "You lost Tobias?" Slenderman's voice started to rise. He was getting angry... at ME?! WHAT THE FUCK DID I DO?! I'M THE VICTIM HERE! (Haha... VicTIM... I'll stop now.)
   "That wasn't my fault, Sir!" I went on the defensive.
     "Where did you last see him?"
     "In the hotel. We were both tied up by Alex and..." my voice trailed off after that.
"I see... Masky, I am going to fetch something... you stay here and guard the others in the mansion. If something goes wrong, DO NOT, leave or let ANYONE in. Do you understand me?" Slender's hoarse voice became more demanding.
"I... understand." I said weakly.

"Tim... oh you poor fucking scum. You are scared, aren't you?"

Toby

     Think Tobias! Think! Use your damn brain! Okay! I passed out here, but... I never saw the path. FOR FUCKS SAKE TOBY! You leave the mansion all the time! Think! Think! Think! Think! Think! Wait a minute... the find the mansion... I REMEMBER!

     "There's a place filled with freaks, this place is what you seek..." I chanted the poem Slender taught me. I wandered the forest with no direction at all. I had no clue where I was going, but I had to continue on.
     "Hear the river water rush just like the stroke of a paint brush..." My ears pricked up when I heard the sound of the river... I'm on the right track.
     "A crow's chirp that's unappealing cannot best the song of unhealing..." I listened again... the sound of a crow's caw. Eyyy, Toby you're doing it!
     "Brilliant lights blindness goes dark as if eyeless." The lights in the cracks of the leaves began to become fully covered by darkness and shadows... it just keeps getting better and better.
     "If you see the gravestone, let out a whimper... once you do, the stones become silver...." I passed by the gravestone and an overwhelming sensation came over me. I let out a small sniff and looked at the path... the stones had turned silver just as foretold. It's funny how this stuff works.
     "From the streets that you used to roam, follow the music box all the way home... Masky..."

     Where are those damn files?! My head was spinning; I needed to find them, and fast! Zalgo will be back any minute! I came this far and I'm not going to disappoint Masky more than I already have! If I find the files, I can finally find out how he managed to create those demons again... Observer, Firebrand, and Shadow Lurker... we destroyed them long ago...
     Ever since that incident, everyone doesn't seem to remember what happened. They all believe that the three demons are alive and well! We killed them! They should be dead! Why do I remember?! Ugh... never mind... I decided to go undercover as a spy and find out more information on what happened. I had to set myself up as a traitor to my proxy and to my master, Slenderman. I know they won't take me back now, but I'd much rather them safe than us going back into another war. We lost so many... Elska, Doll Maker, Hobo Heart... and nowadays, Slender doesn't even remember who they are! Has our world gone fucking insane! (Okay shut up, I know we're insane!)
     Regardless... I have to find out what's going on... if it's the last thing I do... I'm sorry for making you suffer, I'm sorry Kate... you shouldn't have to deal with this... and I'm sorry Masky, for betraying you... but this is for the greater good. Everyone need the truth...

Reeeeeeee! I finally got this chapter out! This story has taken so many turns that I didn't mean to take. I also don't like the story so far, it's so bad 😂 but you know what? You guys seem to like it, so I won't change it too much.
I'm open to new ideas now, please comment what you want to see! I'd love to hear your thoughts and you can even request other stories besides this one!
