"A Really Cute Little Devil"

~ Chapter 5 ~

Just a waring, this chapter is almost entirely dedicated to character development with a little fluff.

Chloe's POV

"Oh brother, you know me too well!" Lucifer drooled at the expansive buffet before him. The table that Amenadiel neatly prepared with enough food to feed the whole precinct. But it was all for my devil. I watched as the delicious smell hit him. His eyes widening at the glorious aroma. He hadn't noticed the feast before. Initially he was too thirsty and much to my disapproval, chugged a bottle of bourbon whiskey. But now I could see in his beautiful dark eyes, a mouth-watering desire to devour every delectable morsel of food he saw. He stumbled towards the us where we sat around the delightful set-up and plonked himself beside me. I watched his adorable clumsiness in awe and couldn't help but choke out a laugh as he went straight for the grilled cheese sandwich. He signalled for us all to eat as well and we did. We all had small, normal portions of food. That was an hour ago. Now we all were deep in conversation and occasionally glancing other at the hungry archangel who hadn't stopped consuming food since he sat.

"For the record, I have never seen anyone eat this much" Linda muttered in astonishment. Lucifer innocently looked up from under his long lashes at the doctor and swallowed whatever was stored in his cheeks. He was so cute sometimes. It made me want to hold him for all eternity.

"He always ate the most" Amenadiel chuckled, "but honestly Luci, Linda is right, this is excessive".

"I'm the devil I get a special permit to indulge. Gluttony is my favourite sin, after lust of course" he retorted. He then reached for the ice cream, hugging it to his no-longer white shirt and plunging a large spoon into the dessert. Licking his lips. Mesmerised by the cold snack before him. I found it particularly endearing when he was undone, in a messy state or confused. Currently, my stomach kept flipping whenever I laid my eyes on his chaotic, disordered look. I watched closely as he licked the ice cream, eyes shut and savouring every sweet flavour. Fire burned through me as I imagined things involving his tongue that even he'd deem sinful.

Eventually, he dropped the container back onto the table that was now almost completely empty of food and lay back into the couch. A satisfied smile creeping onto his face.

"So, what's the dumbest thing you've ever done" Ella questioned. Ella. Both she and Dan were taking this far better than either I or Linda had. Maybe because they knew that two more humans were 'in the know' and happily alive. Or maybe because Linda had talked them through their shock. Now, Dan was calculated and Ella, curious. The query was targeted at Amenadiel but I could sense a response brewing in Lucifer's mind. I looked over at him, expecting a glint of mischief in his eye as he conjured up the perfect response and found none. Instead something like sadness was written over his face. Everyone's attention was focused on Amenadiel, in anticipation of his answer. But I shuffled into Lucifer's side, pressing myself into him as he held up an arm to rest in on my shoulders, intertwining my fingers with his to comfort him. He smiled and planted a soft kiss on my forehead. Maybe I was over reacting...

"Well, one time, I set fire to the silver city's library" Amenadiel explained, deep in thought.

"That's all? I thought there would be something crazy, you know with the whole immortal thingo" she sighed. Amenadiel raised his eyebrow, prompting her to one-up him. "I stole cars." Ella had won that round.

The group shifted their glance to Linda, who, smiling answered, "slept with an angel". We all roared out in laughter but Lucifer didn't move a muscle. I looked up at him, concerned but was cut off by Amenadiel before I could ask what was wrong.

"What about you Luci? Surely you've done something incredibly stupid."

The devil cringed a little but nobody was taking note of his sudden distress.
