You had just stepped out of the shower, still dripping wet and skin soft from the steam, when you heard the door of your dorm room outside open and shut. You shivered, the hot steam from the clouded shower and the cooler air of the bathroom contrasting on your skin. Jae-su had gotten back. Wiping the residual suds from your feet on the bathroom rug and changing into your outfit, you heard a knock on the bathroom door.

"Y/N-ah, when you get out of the shower let's go out to dinner! Solmi recommended a great restaurant she just visited the day before! We should go and do some roommate bonding time," she said, voice slightly muffled through the hardwood.

You winced. As much as you loved Choi Jae-su, you had sadly already made plans. Or been roped into said plans. Unwillingly. Or else you'd totally could've been up for another 'bonding dinner.'

"Sorry, I can't," you answered back, messily rubbing your head with the towel in an attempt to dry your hair.

"Stop lying, I know you're antisocial as fuck," she scoffed. "It's not like you have any plans- wait- did you get asked out on a DATE?" Her voice rose in pitch and crescendo. "Y/N??"

Unless eating dinner with seven magical beings who could probably destroy me with a few spells or something counts, then... no.

She was surprised when the bathroom door swung open and you were standing there, toes wiggling on the condensated slick tiles and steam seeping out from behind your legs. Jae-su was even more surprised when you were dressed in something other then your pajamas.

High waisted pants... cloth straps... a long sleeved nude turtleneck... were those outside clothes?  Jae-su's eyebrows shot up to her forehead, and she had a vague feeling.  Like... the feeling of her child flying the nest for the first time.

Except in this case, swap the child with you and the nest with a social life.

(As excited as Jae-su had been for you to make another friend, did it really have to be Cheung-yi? The sister of the annoying pipsqueak Huang-er in her Econ class?)

"Holy shit, I was joking about the date but seriously, who-" she immediately began spouting, words streaming a mile a minute. You rushed to rectify her train of thought.

"No, no! My friend just invited me to eat dinner with him and his group of friends!" You pushed the words out, panicked.

Her eyes instantly narrowed, ears snagging on the 'him.' "Him? His?"

"Er..." you were hesitant to say, and Jae-su's lazer sharp vision caught that as well.

"Who? Group of friends?" Jae-su bit her lip. "Y/N, do I know them? It's not like... the local gang or something, right? Can I trust this group of guys? Why won't you drop the name?"

Is Jae-su parenting me? Should you be offended that she couldn't trust you to make good decision or grateful that she cared? She was probably your closest friend in university, so far. You hadn't known Cheung-yi long enough or interacted as frequently as you had with Jae-su. Honestly, was this what being taken care of by an older unnie felt like?

Grimacing slightly, you decided to toss his name into the conversation. Why not? You trusted Jae-su, she was your roommate for god's sake. Also if anyone would know about Bangtan objectively, it would be her rather then fanatic Cheung-yi. (Was that rude? To call your friend fanatic?)

"Wait, is the rumour true?" She murmured before you could answer, and your eyebrows shot up to your forehead. Jae-su had probably just meant it as a slip of the tongue, but you'd caught it nonetheless.
