"Come on it's time to get up." I heard someone call from above me. Rolling over on my bed I hit the floor with a thump. 

"Ouch!" I complained and sat up on the floor. Hermione was sat on the bed above me in fits of giggles. "It's not funny." I moaned but she only laughed harder. I stood up and rubbed my back where I had hit it. A shooting pain came from my lower back and I hissed in pain. Grabbing my wand I lifted my shirt to find a black and blue bruise forming there already. Hermione gasped and started apologising repeatedly. 

"Shhhh." I said concentrating. "Frendo evanesco." I muttered over and over again pointing my wand at the bruise. The purples and blues started to go and the pain eased off. I finished the spell and placed the wand back on my bedside table. Hermione stared at me in shock. 

"How did you do that?" She asked after a few moments of silence. 

"I did the frendo evanesco spell to stop the bruising and make it recede. It's latin. I know loads of spells that not many NEWT students do. I even make up my own but you can't tell anyone that because  I was supposed to stop years ago." Hermione carried on staring in shock so I took it as my chance to leave and get changed. I grabbed my robes and got changed. 

"How do you think I should do my hair?" I asked Hermione when I entered the dorm again.  She shrugged and carried on tieing her tie. I kept it as it was but brushed it. We walked down the stairs and in to the common room. I saw it for the first time and couldn't help but smile at the scarlet and gold decorations. Harry and Ron were sat on the couches chatting when we came down and Ron instantly started to complain. 

"What time do you call this? We've been down here for ages and I'm hungry come on!" Hermionie huffed and Harry smiled. We all walked down to the great hall where breakfast would be served. Sitting down at the gryffindor table we dug in to the delicious food. I picked at a piece of toast and waited for my timetable for the year. Minnie finally came to us and handed them out to us all. I looked at mine and sighed in relief.

Not so bad I thought. At least we have DADA today even if we do have to put up with Snape. We finished breakfast and got our needed books from the dorms. It took us around 10 minuets to get to Hagrids hut from the castle while we got our books out. 

"C'mon, now, get a move on! Got a read treat for yeh today! Great lesson comon' up! Everyone here? Right, follow me!" He cried and led us to a pen with some of the most beautiful creatures I had ever seen. They were horse shaped with feathers and a large beak. The feathers glimmered in the light, shining and shimmering. Great big wings were folded against their bodies.

"They're beautiful!" I exclaimed and stepped closer. I some how knew what to do and I stepped in front of the class and bowed to the creature. Hagrid was still talking until Hermione noticed where I was. She cried out and Hagrid turned to see me. The white head lowered to the floor and I stepped toward it to stroke its neck. It gestured for me to climb aboard. I jumped up and settled myself on it. 

"Go as fast as you can." I whispered and he took off. We were soaring through the air and after a few minuets we came back to a land. Hagrid clapped his hands and explained to the class what I had done. The class each stroked the Hypogriffs (as Hagrid later told me) and Draco Malfoy insulted the one called Buckbeak. He gashed his arm and class was cut early so Hagrid could take him to the hospital wing. 

Brilliant next lesson was Divination with the old fraud as a professer.
