[ chapter one ]

I mentally cursed myself as I stood on the sidewalk, my hands on my knees, panting. I had a fitting in about 15 minutes, I had just missed the bus and my car was cozily parked at my house.

My day couldn't get any worse.

Once I had caught my breath, I continued to clumsily run in my heels in the direction of my appointment.

Bad idea, because while I was trying to get there as fast as I could, my foot decided to give up on me, resulting in my ankle twisting and my body stumbling forward.

Unfortunately, my nose faced the wrath of slamming into something hard. "I'm so sorry!" Someone had said. Rubbing my injured nose, I looked up and saw a broad body in all black staring down at me.

Reality hitting me, I quickly stood up and bowed 90 degrees, continuously apologizing to the man infront of me. "I'm so so sorry about that, I'm just running late for an appointment." I breathed awkwardly.

I looked up at him, but couldn't get much of a view of the man's face, as it was covered by a black mask and was wearing a bucket hat. This guy must really like the color black.

He chuckled, "That's ok. You should get going though, don't want to be late for that appointment,"

I gasped and thanked him once again, before darting away.
