[ chapter thirteen ]

"Mark?" I said, looking up to the man just to meet his gaze. He chuckled and handed me a bag that smelled surprisingly good, and made his way past me into the room.

"Why didn't you tell me that you were visiting Korea? I would've come earlier." He said sternly.

"Oh, um, I hadn't thought about visiting anyone since I got here. Sorry, I came for business stuff, that's why contacting you slipped my mind." I said as I looked down from embarrassment.

He walked over and opened the bag that I placed on the table. When I looked up, he was right in front of me, holding a container filled with some Bulgogi, my favourite.

"Knowing you, I'm pretty sure you were gonna have ramen for lunch. Eat up kiddo." He threw me a pair of chopsticks, and smiled as I dug in like someone who hasn't eaten in days.

Lee Mark is one of the only people I'm real with besides Lisa. We've known each other since we were babies, and he's practically my older brother. He's also in a Korean boy band, so after he debuted, we didn't keep much contact with me travelling around the world.

Enjoying my food, before I could take another bite, a sudden thought popped up. I looked over at Mark, who was on his phone.

"Mark, by any chance, did Lisa call you here?" I cleared my throat.

"Yeah, why?" he said looking over at me.

"I invited someone over, that's why. And he'll be here any minute." I said. Mark stood up and walked towards me. He grabbed my shoulders, and glared down at me.

"He?"

I furrowed my brows, and before I could reply, the doorbell rang. He let go of me and walked towards the door, swinging it open to reveal a Jungkook.

"Is this the guy you invited?" Mark pointed towards Jungkook. I gave a quick nod as I stood up and walked towards them. I pinched Mark's arm and told him mentally to move so Jungkook could come in. Keeping his eyes fixed on Jungkook, he moved aside letting him in.

Jungkook nervously walked in and then walked towards me and gave me a quick hug. I hugged back and when he let me go, I could feel Mark's glare on both of us. In height, Jungkook had the upper hand, and I'm pretty sure that he could beat Mark in a one on one, so I didn't get why Jungkook was being so nervous.

He sat beside me in silence while he ate some bulgogi that I gave him. He would glance at me from time to time, and then quickly look away. After a few minutes, Mark stood up and patted the top of my head lightly. Then he crouched down so he was my height, and kissed the top of my forehead.

"Ew you weirdo," I giggled as I pushed his face away. He stood up and chuckled.

"I'll get going then, Jaz. Text me." He said, holding up his phone.

I slightly smiled as I gave a quick nod. Before leaving, he walked towards Jungkook and whispered something to him, which made his face look terrified but turn as red as a tomato at the same time.

I wonder what my overprotective jackass friend said this time.
