[chapter forty-two]

I was laying in my bed, energy had completely left my body as his words rang through my head. Jasmine-ah, you're my sister.

His sister? How could I be? As far as I remember I was an orphan who was raised by her grandmother. Anytime I would ask my nana about my parents, she would always change the topic and say, 'I'll tell you when you're older.'

But she wasn't able to, because she passed away a few years back. It was a hard time for me, and that's when I decided to move to Japan. Seoul just held too many painful memories, and I realized that I needed to do something with my life.

I sighed, closing my eyes. I was confused. Confused about what I should do. How I should react. How am I going to give Jungkook his answer?

[flashback:]

Taehyung put his hand on my shoulder, before sighing. "Jungkook beats himself up when he doesn't do his best. This tour is something we've been working very hard on, and I don't want him or any of the members to be distracted."

My shoulders slumped as I nodded. "Please, for the time being, forget about him. If you truly do love him, then you'll listen to me." he said, before walking off.

I didn't want to ignore Jungkook. He was going to leave in a week and not come back for 7 months, and I couldn't even see him. I groaned as my head started to ache from all this thinking. Maybe after a nap, my head will be clear.

The day had finally come. Today, Jungkook will be flying to America for his first show on his first world tour. I was ecstatic and so proud of him.

A bell rang as I walked into a store, the delicious aroma filling my nostrils. I excitedly went up to the shelves, admiring all the tasty treats that adorned them. After choosing some fruit tarts and cupcakes, I picked them out, paid for them and walked out with a white box that was decorated with a big red bow.

I drove to the bighit building, and walked up to the receptionist. "Miss, you look very cheerful today," she smiled as her eyes landed on the box. "Yes, but I was wondering if the boys are busy right now?"

"No, they aren't. Would you like me to call them down for you?"

"No, it's ok. I'll go to them!" I said as I walked away. A few moments later, I got out of the elevator and headed for their dorms, which was at the very end of the building. I knocked on the door, and waited, before it swung open, revealing none other than Kim Taehyung.

"Jasmine?" he whisper-shouted, before coming outside and closing the door. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to congratulate you guys on the start of your world tour," He sighed in relief before I continued, "I also needed to talk to Jungkook."

His face immediately fell at my statement. "No." he said, but I just smiled and opened the door, shoving past him. The boys' eyes fell on me as I entered. "Hey guys!" I smiled.

"Jasmine-ah! What are you doing here?" Park Jimin asked excitedly before embracing me. "I wanted to congratulate you guys, and brought some desserts," I placed the box on the table.

As I watched the members' lit up and taste the treats, I suddenly winced in pain as someone flicked the back of my head. I turned around and saw Jungkook frowning. "Yah! What was that for?" I whined as I slapped his arm.

He caught my hand and held it in a tight grip. "Why did you avoid my calls and texts?" he asked.

"About that.. Let's talk outside."

We walked along a trail in a nearby park, as the wind whipped past us. "The reason I didn't pick up your calls or respond to your texts.. was because I wanted you to concentrate."

"Concentrate?" he asked.

"I wanted you to focus on rehearsing for your tour, and I didn't want to distract you," I said quietly. "You're not a distraction, Jasmine." Jungkook said, and I smiled. Silence took over as we continued along the path.

"Have you thought about your answer?" he looked at me with desperate eyes. I opened my mouth but closed it. Yes I have, and I want to be with you, is what I wanted to say. But I knew that I shouldn't.

I'm selfish, if I tell him that, then I know that it would hurt not seeing him after a few hours. I ran up in front of him, causing him to stop in his steps. "Jeon Jungkook," I started.

"You are the most caring, understanding, courageous person I know. Your career has skyrocketed so much because of your hard work, and now you're going on a world tour! That's unbelievable, and I'm extremely proud of you."

Jungkook opened his mouth and was about to say something, before I shushed him, giving him an I'm-not-done-yet look.

"You've done nothing less than care for me, even when I was in a bad place. I'm grateful, but I'm also sorry, because I won't be able to give you your well-deserved answer right now. Despite that, I want you to travel around the world and give it your best. Sing like you've never sung before, dance like you've never danced before. Every time you enter the stage, I want you to remember me. I'll always be with you."

A small smile made its way onto my lips as I played with my fingers. "I know it's selfish, but please, wait for me. Even if you don't, I'll be at my house, in Korea, still waiting for you, 7 months in the future."

He was quiet, and I mentally cursed myself. Then suddenly, a pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist and I was lifted into the air. "Wha- "

Jungkook chuckled and put me down. His hand slipped to the back of my neck, pulling me closer. His warms lips came in contact with mine, in a gentle kiss. I closed my eyes, savouring the moment.

A few seconds later, we broke it, catching our breath. Jungkook caressed the side of my face and looked at me with a loving gaze.

"Even if it takes all eternity, I'll wait for you, Kim Jasmine." he smiled. I intertwined my hand in his as I smiled back,

"Then I'll see you in 7 months, Jeon Jungkook."
