You stood looking at the mirror nervously. You were worried your date wouldn't like the way you looked or the way you danced. The whole thing was nervewracking. Fiddling with the fabric of your dress, the knock on your bedroom door brought you back to reality. "Oh, Squirt, you look so beautiful," Your father said, entering your room. You looked down, ashamed of your body and he picked up on it. "Y/N. You are the most beautiful girl I know. And whoever can't see that is living on another planet," He said and embraced you. "Come on, I'll do your makeup," He continued and you held his hand as he brought you to the bathroom.

When he was done applying what you thought was a lot of makeup, he pulled away and let you see yourself in the mirror. He had only done light concealer, a natural eyeshadow, some subtle false lashes, a hint of blush, and a bit of lipstick. He knew it wasn't a lot, but you still felt a whole lot better about yourself. The doorbell rang and he jumped up to answer it while you did your hair. Taking a deep breath in front of the bathroom mirror, you realized you were ready. You slipped on your shoes and walked downstairs. Both your father and your date stood there in awe. "Ready?" Your date asked, holding out their arm. You smiled and nodded, linking yours with theirs.

You looked back at your father as you walked out the door and smiled at him. His face was holding the expression of a proud father, who was sad to see his babygirl grow up so fast. As you shut the door, he mouthed,

"I love you,"
