Dewayne Pov

I step off the plane into the cool breeze. Damn, it feel good to be home. Ain't nothin' like the Chi air hittin' your face after a long-ass flight. I stretch my neck, roll my shoulders back, and look around. First thing I'm doin' before anything? Stoppin' by my moms grave. She stay on my mind heavy every time I touch down here. I check my watch—damn near 5 p.m. We would've landed earlier if that second flight ain't get delayed over some defroster shit.

"Mannn I'm hungry as hell," Rico groans, lookin' down at his phone. "You tryna hit up that one Chinese spot?"

"Aye," I smirk. "Does Liu Min still work there?"

"Nigga hell yeah—and she done got thick as fuck," he says, showin' me a pic from her IG. "I don't know what rice and cabbage she been eatin' but that shit been doin' her justice."

I look down at the pic

I look down at the pic. "Dayumm!" I lick my lips, chuckling low.

Rico nods like he proud or some shit. "Hell yeah, nigga! I been tryna get in them cheeks for the longest, but you know how her daddy is—crazy as fuck. You the only nigga she ever let hit."

Liu Min been workin' at her pops' spot for years now. Don Yiu run that joint like a damn prison camp. Got her locked up tight—twenty-three and still stuck in his house. But back when he was busy openin' his second restaurant across town, I was sneakin' in the back door, no lie. Had her movin' packs for me too. Quiet hustle, but solid.

"Mann, you know how long ago that was?" I shrug. "She probably don't even remember me like that."

"Nah," Rico laughs, pickin' up his bag. "She remember. But if you ain't tryna revisit, pass her my way."

I raise an eyebrow. "Nigga, you got Aisha."

He scoffs. "Man, Aisha aggy as hell. She talkin' 'bout she want a baby, and I ain't ready for all that. I ain't even sure she the one. I think she been fuckin' 'round on me lowkey."

"Damn, for real?" I ask, hopin' like hell Moni ain't on that same type time.

"Yeah, bro. Last time I hit, shit felt a lil... looser," he mutters, shakin' his head.

"Aye, our ride almost here," I say, not even tryna ride that convo out. I drop down onto one of the seats by the exit doors and pull my phone out.

Me: hey baby I made it.

Rico plops down next to me. "Aye man, tonight gon be chill. We handlein' business tomorrow. Tonight, the gang throwin' a lil welcome back kickback 'cause you back in town."

"Ight, but don't be havin' all them thirsty-ass hoes showin' up. You know how them bitches get."

My phone vibrates. Moni hit back quick.
