It was a little before midnight when Fiorenza returned to the hotel room she shared with Lando. She didn't want to have the tension between them anymore and she'd feel guilty if she had started the fight that would make him less concentrated on the track tomorrow. Lando was already in bed and half asleep when she came in. She was quiet however, not wanting to wake him up if he had managed to fall into a deep slumber. Fiorenza placed her bag and her jacket on the chair and quietly got out of her clothes to slip into one of his shirts as a night gown. Lando faintly felt the mattress sinking under her weight as she joined him in bed. He hummed as he turned to face her, his sleepy eyes opening to look at her. "I was worried". He spoke up, his voice thick with sleep. "You didn't pick up your phone". He continued. "I know, Lando". Fiorenza replied, seeing his puffy eyes. Hers automatically became watery as she knew that he had cried as well. "I'm sorry for hurting you". Lando's voice trembled a bit as he craddled her into his chest.
"I'm sorry for leaving you after the argument". Fiorenza said, her hands cupping his cheeks and her thumbs circled over his skin. "Please". He softly said, tears filling his big hues again, partly of relief and partly because of how much he loved her. "If you would ever talk to other guys and I'd get jealous, you'd ensure me that it's fine too. Now I'm ensuring you that it's fine as well, because I only see you. No matter how many girls there are in the world. If I was jealous, you'd ensure me that you only have eyes for me. Please recognize that feeling of ensurement and trust". His fingers brushed patterns over her lower back. "I trust you, Lando". She softly said. "I'm sorry for making it seem like I didn't. It just made me feel insecure". Fiorenza explained. "Insecure?". Lando asked. "There's no other girl as smart, humble and beautiful as you are, Fiorenza. Please believe me when I say that no other girl has all of that too". Fiorenza nodded and dried his cheeks. "Ti amo cosi tanto". She muttered and his lips curled upwards, enjoying the touch of her hand on his face.
Lando pulled her even closer to himself and gently kissed her, holding her against his chest as if she'd leave soon again. His heart skipped a beat when she kissed him back, her fingers drifting from his cheek to his hair and carefully moving into his dark curls. His palms slipped under the material of the shirt she was wearing, feeling her bare skin underneath his hands. Fiorenza felt his limbs tangling with hers and she gently pulled back as his mouth wandered to her neck. "Lando, we're up early tomorrow". She muttered and he grunted in response. "No make-up sex?". Lando sighed and scoffed with a giggle. "Better luck next time". He chuckled as well, knowing in the back of his mind that she was right, he had to be up early tomorrow and he needed to be fit for the third free practice and the qualifying sessions. Lando felt her cuddling into his chest and was also fine with that, he gladly held her in his arms while his fingers brushed through her hair. He heard her breathing pattern getting deeper and he gladly knew she fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat.
"And?". Daniel Ricciardo asked as the caught up with Lando in the paddock. "And what?". Lando asked. "Duh". Daniel rolled his eyes. "Oh, you mean with Fiorenza". He blushed. "No, she was hella mad". Lando replied, using Daniel's choice of words from yesterday. "Did you make up?". The Renault driver asked. "Yes. And how is none of your business". Lando pushed his side with a giggle and pulled his beanie further over his head while making his way into the McLaren hospitality. They were about to have a briefing before the start of the Saturday in Japan and Lando moved into the briefing room with his trainer, sitting down on the same side of the table as Carlos. They had a couple minutes left till the briefing would start, as people still had to make their way over. "Did you celebrate your anniversary with Isa?". Lando blurted out and Carlos lifted his eyebrow. "Like, our one year relationship?". He asked and Lando nodded. "What are you asking? You're not a year with Fiorenza yet, right?". He grinned.
"Four months". Lando replied. "But I want to do something nice for her". He muttered. "Especially after last night". "Oh my god she was mad because you were being a hoe on Instagram". Carlos squealed and Lando gasped at how he put it. "Can you not! We got over it okay". He grumbled and crossed his arms over his chest. "I will try to not". Carlos said with a soft laugh. "I took her out for dinner in a nice restaurant. Bought her a necklace". Carlos shrugged. "Some flowers too". He added. "Food, flowers and diamonds are usually something good". Carlos laughed and Lando nodded, mentally noting those things. He really wanted to show her that he regretted the argument, even though she had already forgiven him. She had been chirpy this morning while they had breakfast together and she was clearly over it. Lando hoped he could find a moment alone to slip away to the mall or order something nice for her before she'd see it and get curious. As the two spend a lot of time together, he'd have to come up with a quick lie to be able to get an hour alone to get to the store.
During the meeting, Lando was a bit mentally absent. More because he was already planning how their anniversary dinner would go. He was going to buy roses to surprise her with and he was going to get her a bracelet too. One to match with the watch she wore. He wondered if he'd get it in silver or in gold, or maybe rose gold. If the rhine stones should be coloured a bit or just plain, shiny diamonds. Lando nodded at himself, sure his idea was great. He couldn't wait to surprise her.
