I screamed and fell out of the tree with a thud, even though I knew I was drawing them to me, the one thing I had been told not to do. I clutched my heart in pain, the coolness of the ground seeping through my clothing, doing nothing to stop the pain I felt from losing my entire life. I screamed again as the pain continued, the fire spreading throughout my body. I heard paws thundering in the distance, like thunder growing closer every second, the seconds felt like hours as time slowed to a crawl, seconds feeling like hours. Then they were on top of me and I released one last scream...

I bolted out of bed, immediately scanning the room for threats. My room was what most people would call the attic; it was small, cramped, had a wooded slanted roof and white walls. The only thing that I was grateful for was the fact that I was allowed to clean my room so there were no spiders or anything of the sort, the only possessions I had in the room was my small wooden bed that was pushed up against the middle of the back wall and my pile of clothes in the corner. I settled down a bit when I realized nobody was in my room, but my nerves were still shot, every time that memory got to me, nothing I did would stop it, the memory of the first time I almost died, I was only 3.

I slowly woke myself up the next morning and proceeded to drag myself to the 'Omega bathroom' as it was called. It was a single bathroom with a toilet and a sink, For once it was empty when I got there I looked at the clock as I walked in and realized that the reason It was empty was because we should have started cooking by now, "Shoot I'm late" I then got changed, Tried to tame my hair and splashed water on my face before sprinting down the stairs into the kitchen. Downstairs all the other omegas were staring at me, I just ignored them and proceeded to cook the bacon as I did every morning. The other omegas Sophie, Anna, holly, Josie and Sam, they were all about my age but we were never really friends, more like co-workers.

When I heard footsteps on the stairs I put the best bacon and eggs on the counter and we all assumed our submissive position like we were taught to do. Hands out with palms facing upwards and heads bowed. The Alpha spoke "good to see that everyone is learning" He sat at the table and Sophie immediately brought the pancakes over to him, "What is this? Why is my bacon not crunchy YOU KNOW THAT I LIKE IT CRUNCHY!" Panicking I quickly put some more bacon on making sure that I did not burn it, when it was done I took it over to him with my head down "sorry sir It won't happen again." "It better not" I was petrified I had only been punished once in my time being an omega and I did not want a repeat, the memories still haunted me. My blood on the floor... the evil look on Alphas face... the hopelessness.

Alpha then sat down and continued eating his breakfast as if nothing had happened, We stayed in that same submissive position serving food for the entire pack, while we waited for them to eat. Once they had we took the tiny amount of leftovers and split them among ourselves.

We all then set about doing our daily chores, well nearly all of us, Anna decided to risk a shower, She's going to get caught. I ended up in the gear shed stitching up a boxing bag that had been ripped open, When the Beta walked in, "Be ready in 10 minutes for your shifting ceremony" damn I forgot that today was my 18th birthday, And because it is my 18th birthday I have to go through the shifting ceremony, The shifting ceremony for everyone but omegas is when the entire pack throughs a party in order to show support for whoever is shifting, for omegas it is a chance for the pack to ridicule us for our small wolves and 'weakness'.
