Adonis Reed.

Adonis pulled his date's chair out and waited for her to sit down before pushing it in and going over to his side. He'd met Draya in his business management class during an assignment. She was cool as hell, beautiful, and she was smart. He just had to take her out.

"Donny!? Oh my baby, I haven't seen you in a while." Mama Dee, the owner of his favorite soul food restaurant said squeezing the life out of him. She was like another granny to him since he'd been coming to eat at her place since he was a kid.

"Hey Ma, you know I can't go without your cookin' for too long. I been a lil' busy with school though." He smiled at her. Oh that smile. If Dee was about thirty years younger she'd snatch that boy up. He damn sure was handsome and had a smile to die for. She loved her some Adonis.

She looked over at the beautiful young lady typing away on her phone across from him and frowned. All that man in front of her and she was texting?

"This must be your little girlfriend huh? She's pretty Don." She was gonna be polite, even though the girl gave off a bad vibe.

Draya looked up from her phone locking it and smiling at the older woman. "Hello! I'm Draya."

"Pretty name for a pretty girl."

"Thank you Mama." Draya spoke smiling even harder. Dee almost called her out but she wasn't gonna be rude to Donny's company. He was the only one other than her baby's that could call her Mama. She didn't know this little girl.

"I'll catch up with you later Donny, enjoy your meal and if you need anything just tell your waitress to get me."

Dee walked away leaving an amused Adonis and an obnoxiously smiling Draya. She thought she was getting in good with the family earning a few brownie points. Little did she know, she'd already fucked up.

"So, what you wanna eat boo?" Don asked finally picking up the menu.

"They got lobster?"

Adonis raised an eyebrow looking at her crazy. This was a soul food restaurant. The only seafood they had was fried shrimp. What made her think they'd have some lobster?

"They got shrimp." He stated deciding to keep his negative comments to himself.

She scrunched her face up some looking at the menu. She was used to being wined and dined at expensive restaurants and ordering whatever she wanted. She'd never even heard of this place.

"I guess just order me whatever you usually get and I'll try it out." She was trying to sound as grateful as possible but this was not it for her.
