Damira Johnson.
The entire place was in chaos. Damira and Adonis had made it outside and gotten into his car waiting for the others. Although they'd gotten out, they wouldn't leave them behind unless completely necessary.
"I'm going back in to get her!" Mira cried attempting for the hundredth time to pull on the door handle. Adonis was getting fed up with her at this point because she knew he'd locked the door the first time she tried. He knew how she felt, his bro was in there too but he knew they were strong and they'd get out of there as soon as they could.
"Chill out Ight? Bella a whole G out here, she can handle her own without you."
"I know." She looked down at her phone waiting for it to light up. If she could just get some kinda indication that her friend was okay she'd be satisfied. "You think she's hurt?"
"To be honest, that scream she let out wasn't no playful one. She might be a lil out of it boo." He reached his hand over and intertwined it with hers giving it a firm squeeze. Even though she was getting on his nerves a little bit with the whining, he felt for her. He knew her and Bella were close and he treated her like a little sister too. Truth was he was also scared. But he wasn't gonna admit that.
A few minutes went by and everything was starting to calm down because the police cars were arriving. While they were all scared, nobody wanted to go to jail. The police made Don a little nervous and he was seriously thinking about pulling off. Mira would have a damn fit but he couldn't get locked up again.
Just as he was about to break the news, Iris came speed walking out the back door with a heavy looking Bella in his hands. Don was relieved and so was Mira who felt like crying seeing her friend like that.
"You wanna ride in the back with Bells boo?" He asked her and she nodded her head getting out and opening the door for them. Iris slid Bella in the back seat and got in the passenger seat as Mira got in the back. Not even waiting on anybody to put on seatbelts, Adonis sped out of the parking lot as fast as he could without getting caught. A few miles down the road he relaxed a bit and slowed down.
"She Ight?" He asked peeking back at Bella through the mirror. Mira sat back there rubbing through her scalp wishing she'd just wake up and say she was okay. She missed her loud mouth ass so much and never realized how much she really needed her in her life until now.
"Yeah man." Iris looked furious. His light skinned face was damn near bright red and his fists were clenched so tight it looked like they hurt.
"You good brodie?"
"Yeah man. Ima let you know wassup in the mornin'." Don nodded his head and continued driving leaving Mira confused and curious. What were they hiding from her? And if it pertained to Bella, she had the right to know. She wouldn't press the issue just yet though. They'd all had a long night and everybody just needed to go home and think.
"Ima take Bella with me. Make sure Mira get in safe for me bro." Iris said carrying Bella into his apartment. Adonis nodded and pulled off as soon as they made it through the door. Since Iris didn't live in the same complex as them, they had to drive a few more minutes to get home.
"You good by yourself tonight?"
"I'm a big girl Adonis." Mira rolled her eyes crossing her arms over her chest. She didn't wanna be rude to him but she didn't wanna be left out of the loop either.
"Wassup? You was being cool at the club then all of a sudden you wanna start trippin' dude." He was getting annoyed with her all over again. He'd never done anything to her and she was always icing him out.
"I don't appreciate y'all hiding shit from me that pertains to my damn sister! That's what the fuck is wrong with me!"
"Man what? I don't even know the damn information yet dawg what's yo problem? Fuck you mad at me for be mad at Iris or something. You not finna continue to disrespect me and treat me like a punk ass nigga when all I've done since I met yo spoiled ass was make sure you was straight." He was over Damira and her attitude at this point. As beautiful as she was, she had an attitude problem and she was gonna have to fix that if anything was gonna happen between them.
Mira stayed quiet the rest of the ride feeling extremely guilty now. She'd treated this man badly and he'd given her rides and payed for her vip birthday treatment. All she wanted to do now was apologize but she couldn't figure out what to say.
Don pulled into a parking space and shut his car off before reaching into the back seat. He grabbed the box from the jewelers he'd picked up earlier today and handed it to her. He popped the locks and got out the car going around and opening her door for her to get out. They didn't say anything else to eachother but a regretful goodnight as they went their separate ways.
Damira woke up around 3 pm mentally cursing herself for not setting an alarm. She'd missed her morning classes and was surely going to have to make her test up now. She hated making up work. She'd rather just do it when it was due. Bella was heavy on her mind though. She reached over grabbing her phone noticing that she had a few texts from Iris. Bella was up and eating. She was okay.
A wave of relief washed over Mira. She almost wanted to cry knowing that her sister was okay. But she knew she was being extra over dramatic for no reason. After the relief wore off guilt set in. She'd remembered how angry Adonis was at her last night and she felt guilty. He paid for her to have a nice birthday, probably spending his last for her and she was being rude to him. He even bought her a gift which she hadn't even opened yet. She definitely needed to apologize.
D? You up? - M
Yeah princess. - Don
Im sorry....can I make it up to ya? -M
Apology accepted but I gotta date boo. Hit you later tho - Don
For some reason, Mira's heart felt heavy. She didn't like the idea of Adonis being on a date. He wasn't hers but he damn sure wasn't gonna be nobody else's! At that very moment she wished her best friend was across the hall from her. She didn't know what to do at all and she had ruined her chance with Adonis.
All she wished for right now was for Bella to come home.
