Big Blues Eyes Of Nothingness

Looking in the mirror
She stares into the reflection and gazes into deep blue eyes of nothingness
Festering behind the iris
An unpredictable, never ending ocean
Awaits the approaching storm

BOOM

Emotions erupt with a ferocious thunderous roar
Floodgates open as tears cascade from her eyes like waves that crash against each other
The wave begins to fold over
Reaching out her arms to keep from drowning
She splashes around and gags on the words they have shoved down her throat
"Grow Up" they say
"Don't think I didn't see you roll your eyes!"
"Watch your tone with me, young lady!"

CRACK

The societal tsunami grows bigger every second
A jagged bolt of lightning rips her world in half
They say she is not a woman, but they expect so much from a little girl
"I just want to be understood"
Her words fall on deaf ears
Winds surround her
Her voice unable to burst through the barrier
The squall overpowers her pleas

CRASH

Beguiled by the howling of nearby sirens
She submits herself to the powerful ocean within
Sinking to silence the thunder
She carves out her heart to bury it in the bottom of the ocean
Waiting for the abyss to comfort her from the emotional strain

Still staring into that mirror she sees anything but herself
No big blue eyes
Just a broken image
