Chapter 3

"I'm so sorry, Christian. I just feel sick and I won't be able to make it."

"It's fine."

I let out a sigh as I hung up the phone. I finally had a date with my dream girl and she couldn't even make it. I sat on the couch and turned on the TV.

"Whatcha doing, stud? Thought you had a date tonight."

"Me too, but she's sick."

"Sick? Why don't you bring her some stuff to help her get over it? I just went to the store and got some things for myself, but I could always buy more."

"You'd do that, Hannah?"

"Of course. Here, I have bath salts and bath bombs, candles, and a new throw blanket."

"Thanks, Han. I'll stop by the store and get you some replacements on my way home."

I straightened out my appearance before knocking on the door.

"Christian?"

I could tell she was sick just from looking at her pale face, and still, she was the most gorgeous girl I had ever seen.

"Hey, Hera. I know you weren't expecting me, but I didn't want you to be alone while you were sick."

"Oh. No one has ever done something so...nice and selfless for me. Come in."

"What do you mean?" I was genuinely curious because I didn't understand how me showing up to her house unannounced was selfless.

"I mean, for all you know I could have an infectious disease and yet here you are."

"Um... you don't, do you?"

"No," She laughed before continuing. "I know I must look like a wreck right now."

She didn't. She was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie. She had her hair in a bun and there was not a trace of makeup on her face.

"I don't think you could look like a wreck if you tried."

"Charming. Is that the first time you've used that one?"

"Still believe I have 'side hoes'?"

"I always will."

"Well, I brought you some things, but I could go give them to one of my many women." I took the basket of everything Hannah had given me from behind my back.

"Well, I'm not going to deny a gift." She had a playful glint in her eyes and oh, was she beautiful.
