It was official. They were going to Australia. Melbourne to be specific. They had entered a transition year for their last year of school. Their school was funding this of course and so they jumped for the opportunity. Why not? It's not like anyone would miss them. No one knew who they were, no one would need to know who they are.
They didn't know what to expect from Australia, only that it was super hot and nothing like from where they come from, England. The weather was different, the animals were different, the people were different, even the cities were different. Australia had a lot more to offer than plain ole England and that was why they wanted to go.
They, Logan and Harley, were two teenagers. They were in their final year of school, year 11. They were both eighteen. They were sisters, twin sisters, which no one knew. Of course they were fraternal. They were opposites in every way possible, except their hair and eye colour, brown.
Where Harley would listen to One Direction and R5, Logan would listen to ACDC and Avenged Sevenfold. It was just their preferences. Where Harley would wear shorts and tank tops, of course with tights, Logan would wear jeans and a t-shirt. Again, it was just their preferences. Harley was nice, cheerful and always positive, Logan was mean, moody and negative, very negative.
But that didn't stop their relationship from growing stronger. In fact, even today it is still growing stronger and stronger, nothing, no one can break that bond. This bond is unlike any other twin bond. When they were young, they were abandoned in their own home, left to fend for themselves for weeks on end and then one day a miracle happened. They were found and loved.
It only lasted for a few years though. Their new mother, Theresa Starr, had been diagnosed with cancer. They were only fifteen years old. They were in high school, no friends, no family, except Theresa. They took time off of school to take care of her, to love her. Then came the dreadful day and all hope seemed lost yet again.
Theresa had luckily left her will in their hands, she had no other person to give it to, she was alone just like them at one point. So Logan and Harley were able to rent an apartment and live unnoticed, still attending school and working as waitresses, helpers, assistants.
It was Summer 2011 when the option to fly over to Australia for the year was announced. It was £1000 per person and they had enough, more than enough. They had quickly applied and were officially on the list.
Twelve months later, they have been contacted and instructed with what to do. They had to pack, attend a meeting for the specific dates and times and then on the date given they were to meet at the airport: Manchester Airport.
It was coming closer and closer and the two girls were on the edge of their seats everyday. The could not wait for this opportunity. They had even researched about Australia, they didn't know that school finished in year 12.
_
"Logan, I can't believe it's happening." Squealed the eldest twin, Harley. The music was blasting through the radio and the windows were down as they drove down the motorway.
Logan giggled, running a hand through her blowing hair trying to tame it as best as she could. She glanced at her sister who was smiling wildly with both hands on the wheel.
It was finally the day, the day they fly to Australia and finally live the lives they were always dreaming of. The two were always wondering when an adventure was going to come and now it was here, welcoming them with open arms.
Logan glanced at the GPS and noticed that they were only a few miles away from Manchester airport. She grinned and nodded her head to the music, soaking in the sun that had surprisingly appeared for once. Maybe it was waving them off, giving the twins a bit of good luck for once.
