Shush

The sky darkened by the enormous grey clouds would have made anyone doubt that it was already three o'clock in the afternoon.

The privileged who had a one-shift work schedule must to be on their way home by now.
In the opposite case, and for the majority, they must be finishing eating in the ten-minute break the factories gave them.

David wasn't eating; he wasn't even in the factory where he worked:
He was in a square, sitting on a bench, perhaps with his forehead held high, but, in his eyes, he had such a lost and tired look that anyone would think he would commit suicide that very night.

Not will so.

Now, without his job (he was fired for underachievement), he had officially been left without a distraction that would relieve him of the heavy passing of time.

Now, he felt every minute, every second, pass in all its bloody extension and...
It tasted like hell to him.

He couldn't stop thinking about him, about Simon, about worrying permanently, about what his reasons are, where he might be...

"Hello, London average facial expression," a singing voice cuts his thoughts.

It takes David a few seconds to get back to life. And a few others in understanding the words of the pretty face of the woman who was seeing him with a sly smile.

A giggle is what he could emit.
She was surprised.

"Hello"

"Wow, you laughed. Normally when I tell it to people they look at me badly."

"Well, I got it. It's a good one," David shrugs.

"Can I... can I sit with you?"

"Yes, of course."

He moves over and she sits down.

"So... you are?"

"David, and you?"

"Sheridan"

"Lovely name"

"Oh, thank you! And yours... emm, very... common!" she smiles in apology.

David laughs briefly again, "well, it's the truth".

They talked about a few other things before she noticed the nice ring on his heart finger and asked:

"What a beautiful ring. Are you married?"

"Yes... that's right"

"Darn it..." she murmurs, turning to David's opposite side.

"Excuse me?" David bows.

"Nothing, nothing. And what's your wife's name?"

David looks down at the ground, his ears turning red "husband. His name is Simon."

Sheridan blushes abruptly and curses, but now mentally and with more vulgar words.

"Ah-haha, sorry!"

"Don't worry, you didn't know" gives her a comforting pat on the shoulder.

The Smith woman didn't know if it was too inappropriate, but she still asked.

"And why are you so sad?" David looks at her with both eyebrows raised "you can tell me! I'm a stranger!"

Williams thought for a moment.
He didn't really lose anything by doing it.

"Well, I got kicked out of work today. And let's just say I have some problems with my partner."

"Oof, I can't help you there, buddy."

"Why? You are..."

"Divorced. Yep. But it's not about me, it's about you... did he cheat on you or something?"

"No! No, no, it's not like that"
David moves his hands frantically in front of him.
He would die if he discovered that Simon was unfaithful "they are... simple disagreements that make us discuss day by day".

Sheridan makes a thoughtful sound.

"Have you tried having sex instead of arguing? Kind of like pissed off sex?"

David was stunned and had a lot of color on his cheeks. "Well... no"

"Some friends say it works. It's like therapy."

The married man comes out of the surprise phase and then burst out laughing.

"Oh, my God, this is what I needed today. You're a very special woman, Sheridan. Seriously" David gives her a sweet smile.

She grins too, as she accommodates a lock of hair behind her ear.
"And about the problem of work... what can you work on?"

"I was a factory worker, but I actually have a certificate in literature."

Sheridan widens her smile "you're lucky! I have a family member who needs a tutor for his daughter, you sign up?"

"Are you serious? Of course I do" he hugs her strongly "thank you, thank you, thank you!"
.
.
.

"Thank you!" Simon smiles politely at the salesman and leaves the clothing store. Looks at the black hat he had bought and nod. Yes, David was going to love it, it was very much his style.

A good gift for no special reason, just the love he has for him.

Cowell chuckles as he looks at the night sky and walks where he always goes home, the hat hidden under his black coat because it started to drizzle.

Simon was almost jogging about how excited he was to see David. Today there was something in that night that gave him hope, something magical was breathed in the air, his heart was pounding and...

One black hand covers his mouth firmly, another around his neck "shush..."

He complains noiselessly and his hands were automatically placed on unknown hands, trying to remove them from him. He is dragged into the alley next door, the person in black insulting him every time Simon manages to hit him with his elbow.

Simon was running out of air and only then, he receives a strong blow in the mouth of his stomach, causing him to fall to the ground.

"I told you it wouldn't stay that way, you fucking rat."
