Simon ducks his head, closes his eyes tightly and, taking a painful and great breath of air, runs, in an impossible manner, faster.
"You'll see when I... catch you, you son of a bitch!"
They reached a very crowdly area.
No question Cowell could use that to his advantage and lose sight of his fervent pursuer. He dodges bodies, jumps boxes on the floor, excuses to the air when he pushes someone, a truly all-out spectacle.
And yet, he kept listening to him behind him.
The queen printed on that ten-pound note on Cowell's hand seemed to be mocking the situation.
Who would have thought that such a chase would be caused by a rich man losing a ten-pound note when surely he had ten other notes of equal value in his wallet?
Simon doesn't understand.
'Next time I will pick someone fat'.
Simon does that reminder to himself.
Of course, the man in the good suit had made the attempt to attract the attention of the people around them, shouting things like 'thief! He's a thief!' or 'he stole from me!', but nobody paid any attention.
And how else could it be?
The lower class proletariat only supported their class, just as the high command only supported wealthy possessors. Nothing that wasn't unfair:
That's what it's like to live in a hierarchical society.
At one point, the man was swifter than Simon and somehow he grabbed his arm. With effort, he pulls him and they lose their balance, falling.
People, shocked by the event, give space to the two breathless beings.
Even a little dazed, Simon infers that he cannot waste time, so he forces his trembling legs to stand up again.
It seemed that his companion was in worse condition as he could not get up.
His body simply didn't give more.
The money man throws daggers with his eyes at the thief, who doesn't realize that the scarf protecting his identity was laying on the ground.
Simon flees.
"This won't stay that way..."
.
.
.
"So, you have nothing" the impossibly wide figure tilts his head.
"It was a bad day," Simon says.
"Not even a pound, really?"
Cowell doesn't believe that whatever he says next is of any use so he stays silent.
.
Right after getting rid of the rich man, Simon met a situation his heart couldn't ignore: two children, no more than thirteen years old, being run from a bakery, between screams and blows from the owner.
"We are hungry... just a few crumbs, please" one of them says in a cry.
"And I've got a face that I care about? I'll call the police if you don't leave right now."
The children swallowed their saliva and, looking down, turn around to walk away.
The man then returned to his work. Moments later he heard the door open, and out of the corner of his eye he recognized the same children. His blood boiled with irritation.
"What the fuck do I have to...?"
His sentence was left incomplete because of the appearance of a new person: a black-haired man with a serene face and impenetrable black eyes.
"Good afternoon, sir! What can I do for you?" immediately changes his facial expression and tone of voice.
"Oh, I don't come to buy, they do" takes the shoulders of the pair of children.
