Surprise Visitor

Hey, sorry for the long wait to those that like this little story and whatnot.

-12 Am-

I was sleeping peacefully for once, when I was woken up by my phone going off. I got up to go get it off my desk where I left it before I went to bed. I looked at the clock and it said '12:00'

Who is calling at this hour?

I looked at my phone to see who was calling.

Call From 'Biggums <3'

I picked up my phone and answered the call.

"Hey Jerome, what's up?"

"Hey Mitch, did I wake you? You sound groggy." Jerome asked.

"Hmm, I'm fine. Why are you call so early? Or would it be late?" I tried to put on a joking tone.

"I think it would be late." Jerome laughs.

"So, trying not to sound rude, why call so late anyway?" I ask.

"Oh, right. I was calling to ask if it would be OK if I fly to Montreal and stay with you for a little bit?" Jerome says sounding hopeful.

Jerome. Staying. With me. I mean yeah, we have stayed at each others houses before, for years we've done that, but with what I'm dealing with now. Now more then ever. But there's another thing...

"My guest room is getting redone. There's nothing in there. I don't know where you'll sleep." I reply.

"Oh that's fine. We can do what we've always done. Share your bed." He doesn't even sound embarrassed to say that.

"Yeah, sure. That'll work."

"Great! I have to book my flight and get packed up. You still sound tired, go to bed. Get some more sleep." And with a 'Good-Bye' he hung up.

I had put my phone back down on the desk and went back to bed. I laid down and just stared at the ceiling. I was trying to sleep, but the sweet nothingness of sleep didn't come. I just laid in bed till the early hours of the morning. After not sleeping, I decided to get up and make myself some breakfast. I got out of bed and went downstairs to go to the kitchen when the door decided to make noises.

*Knock knock*

I walked to the door to see who it was. I looked through the little peep hole in the door. I saw someone I didn't expect to see.
