I was surprised to see this person. I hadn't seen this person in a couple years. I had zoned out again and realized this when the person at the door knocked again. I straightened up in the mirror in my front hallway and turned to open the door.

"Hey Caren, how did you find me?"

I tried to ask as politely as I could. Caren is my ex- girlfriend from two years ago. She's the one that helped me realize my feelings for Jerome without knowing. Thats why I broke up with her. I didn't feel anything towards her anymore. She was also just a tad bit crazy.

"Hey Mitchy, I didn't realize you lived here. I just moved in down the street and wanted to introduce myself to everybody."

"Oh, how was the move? And don't you remember how many times I asked you not to call me 'Mitchy'?" I was generally annoyed with the fact I asked her maybe a thousand times to not call me that.

"Sorry Mitch, but the move was fun. New York to Montreal." She sounded excited about moving here.

"Great, glad you had fun and had a safe trip, but if you excuse me I'll have company over in a few hours or so."

I tried, I'm telling you, I really tried to get her to leave. After we broke up she went kinda coo-coo and I won't ever be able to trust her again.

"Oh, who's visiting? If it's alright to ask?"

I didn't want to tell her it was Jerome. When we dated she always tried to get rid of him. She even went as far as to pay someone to kidnap him. It didn't happen because I caught her in the process of telling the guy what to do and paying him. This was after I broke up with her. And I just happened to go into the cafe they were in.

"Just a friend."

"Alright." With a smile she left.

I closed the door and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I went back upstairs not bothering to eat and went to sit at my desk. Right when I sat down and got my computer up and running I got a skype call from Sarah. So, I answered.

"Hey Sarah."

"Hey Mitch. You OK? you look really pale, like you saw a ghost. How original of me to say that but it's true."

"Sorta. My ex- girlfriend was at my door. She moved in down the street."

"Ouch. She crazy or somethin'?"

"Yeah, I guess you could say that."

What am I going to tell Jerome?
