Reunited (a Rune Factory 4 fan fiction)

The Meeting

Dylas sat motionless at the edge of the lake, staring at the bobber attached to the end of his fishing pole. He had just finished working at the inn, serving the customers that came in for dinner. Now he decided to enjoy fishing and the low, calm gurgling sound of the lake about a 15 minute walk away from Selphia. Dylas is a 20-year-old man, about 5ft 11in in height, has long silvery-blue hair, and deep copper eyes.He has silky black horse ears at the top of his head and a long tail the color of his hair that, somehow, complemented his overall appearance. As he stared quietly and intensely at the bobber, he heard a quiet crying sound from behind him. Concerned, he took a break from his fishing and started a search of the woods around him. The sound gradually got louder and louder the deeper he went into the forest. "What is making that sound?" he thought to himself. When he passed by a big White Oak tree, he came across a little girl crouching behind it, with her head inside her lap.

"Are you ok?" he asked as he sat down next to her.

"N-no." she whispered back.

"Can you tell me what's wrong? Maybe I can help you," he told her.

She looked up at him,"I'm lost," she replied.
Dylas gasped when he saw her face. She had long, shimmery, light green hair, light, innocent green eyes, and soft, peachy pink skin. He guessed she was probably around nine to ten years of age. "She looks just like..." he thought, then shook his head. "It can't be, Freys gone." Dylas sadly reassured himself. He turned back to the girl.

"Would you like me to take you back to town with me? Maybe we can help you find your home," Dylas proclaimed.

"If you think that will help," she said.
Dylas stood, offering the little girl his hand. She took it, and stood upright in an almost royal stature. They walked back to the lake where Dylas's fishing pole and bait bucket lay. He took the pole and slung it over his shoulder, then grabbed the tin bucket and headed back to Selphia.
