That Didn't Go As Planned

Helena stared at me incredulously. "I would never go against My Queen!"
I rose my eyebrow, not saying anything. We continued to look at each other, until Helena finally looked away, uncomfortable with the power in my gaze.

I sighed. "Look, I don't want to do this, but if it is the only way..." I trailed off, wanted her to wonder, until I saw her tremble. At that moment, I realized. She was scared. No, not just scared, petrified. I softened immediately, crouching down when she does.
"Hey, look, I'm not going to hurt you, Helena. I was just," I pulled a tray of cookies I had sitting on the table by the door, that just so happened to be out of sight, "going to give you some of these cookies. I apologize for frightening you." I slid the cookies that were given to me under the cell door, then turned around to leave.

As I reached the door, I called over my shoulder, "And don't worry, I didnt put anything in them. They're just.. chocolate chip cookies."

Well, that didn't go as planned. I thought in my head as I walked back to my own room.

I entered the room with a sigh and laid down. What did the Witch Queen do to her? Her eyes...they grew so dark, I could barely see the color in her  eyes. Only sorrow.

"I wont let it happen again." I whispered out into the open air, before turning on my side and trying to get to sleep. However, my brain wouldn't shut off. I tossed and turned all night, before I finally stood and decided to get some practice in. I have a feeling we will be dealing with trouble soon.

The sun was just rising when the reteiners found me. I was sitting, well floating, in order to meditate and ground my powers. I heard a gasp and opened my eyes, locking them with Atlea. This broke my concentration, and I fell. "Ouch. Well, that's definitely going to leave a mark." I spoke once I landed, gasping for air. "I was higher than I thought if that winded me."

Atlea laughed and sat next to me. "What are you doing?" She asked, pushing her pink bangs out of her eyes.

I was about to answer, when a sudden smell caught my attention. It pulled at me, but not in an unfamiliar way. "Atlea, get ready to do some magic, but don't look suspicious." She gave me a look of confusion but complied. "I was just training, you know. Want me to show you some moves I learned?" I asked her, which got a nod in response.

Without warning, I unleashed my telekinetic ability and pulled at whatever was watching us. What I pulled back surprised both Atlea and I.

"Cerberus." I gasped, looking at my three headed dog.
