Sorry it's been so long since I've updated. But here you go!
Izzy turned around, finding her dad right behind her. He had a smirk on his face that only grew bigger once he saw Ginny.
"Ginny! RUN!" Izzy screamed. But it was too late. Izzy's dad had thrown a walnut at Ginny's head, knocking her out cold. "Help me!" Izzy screamed into the darkness! "Help!"
Her dad pushed her against a tree, suffocating her to the point where she couldn't breathe. "This is where you die, Izzy," he said in a low voice. Izzy could feel the blood rushing to her head, could hear her pounding heart, could see black spots clouding her vision, and she could feel the tree, hard against her back, keeping her in place. But most of all, she could taste blood, coming from all over her face.
The black spots on her vision took over, and Izzy tried to hold up the wave of darkness coming to kill her. But no matter how hard she strained, the wave crashed over her, and she breathed her final breath as her life came to an end.
...
Jacob ran out of his house, sprinting towards the woods where he had heard the screaming coming from.
He had rushed out of his house, not realizing how stupid he looked. He was wearing jeans and a shirt with medium length sleeves, but his hair was a mess and his eyes were extremely puffy from sleep deprivation.
Jacob's jeans didn't help the case. They were made for relaxing, not for running. Finally he reached the place where he heard the scream, and saw a tired man, standing up and staring at the ground. He also saw a ginger haired puppy that was struggling to its feet.
And lastly he saw a young girl sprawled over the ground, dark hawk wings covering her back. She wasn't breathing.
He looked up from the girl and saw that the creepy man had disappeared. Jacob flipped her over and saw that she had two red spots on her throat which meant one thing. The man had strangled her.
Jacob looked at her face, finally recognizing her as the girl from her class. Then he realized something else. She was peculiar. Just like him.
Jacob took deep breaths, trying to assure himself that she would be fine. But with every passing minute, it became clear that she was dead. He remembered the dog, and called it over. It licked the girl's face, but she didn't wake up.
He had learned chest compressions when he was 11, but now he was 14, and he might forget crucial details. Besides, how creepy would it be to wake up with some random dude pressing on your chest?
Suddenly, the girl gasped and her eyes fluttered open. She looked around and then passed out again, but Jacob could hear her breathing this time.
...
Izzy dreamed that she was alive, and there was a boy. He was the boy that told her not to fight. He was the boy who stared at her during her party. He was... Jacob Carlisle. Her silly little crush.
Jacob looked really worried for some reason, he had a tiny crease between his eyebrows as if he was thinking. Then he started yelling, "Izzy wake up! Wake up Izzy! Wake up!"
Izzy shot up with a start and covered her face with her wings. "I'm dead, aren't I?!" She whimpered and closed her eyes whispering, "I'm dead, I'm dead."
"No, you're alive." A voice that was painfully recognizable. "You're going to survive. Can you hear me?" Izzy nodded, but she wasn't paying attention to him. She was thinking one thought, and one thought only.
I'm not dead.
