"Sophie, I got the job!"
It's a few days later, it's the weekend and I'm ready to have some fun.
"Girl I knew you'd get it, congrats! I know we were gonna stay here and eat pizza and hang out but do you want to go out for some drinks to celebrate instead? My daughter is with my parents for the night so I'm free to do something".
I say yes to that plan because I'm absolutely dying to experience my first crazy night out in the city.
We're listening to music and we're getting dressed up. I'm peering at myself in Sophie's mirror and lining my lips.
"(YN), did you decide what top to wea-"
BANG!!
Shit, what was that? We both stare at each other, puzzled.
We walk out into the corridor to see what's up, and I notice Sophie staring at number 8J with a worried expression on her face.
She goes to knock on the door and I follow her over.
Arthur opens the door. His forehead is glistening with sweat and his eyes flicker from me to Sophie.
"You okay Arthur? We heard a bang like a gunshot, sounded like somewhere over here. Did you hear it?" Questioned Sophie.
"A gunshot? No, I don't think I heard that... you guys going somewhere nice? You look...nice."
I'm wearing a short skirt and I catch his eyes glancing at my legs.
"Yes, (YN) here got a job so we're going out tonight to celebrate" goes Sophie.
"Oh, congratulations, (YN). That's great" he smiles timidly at me.
I see his eyes move their line of vision to my lips, and the corners of his mouth curl upwards.
We say bye and head back to Sophie's, but I glance behind me and see Arthur still looking at me. Weird.
I look at myself again in the mirror, and pick up my lip liner to finish what I was doing. I pause when I look in the mirror. I have a big lip liner line going from the corner of my mouth up towards my cheek. So that's what he was smiling at.
"You know, (YN), Arthur hasn't really spoken to me the last few days since you got here. I don't think he's crushing on me anymore, I think he might be crushing on you" laughs Sophie.
