A month after NYC, Ed and I flew back to LA for a promo shoot and for the American Music Awards. I was home in my satin pajamas lying in bed, reading a good book, waiting for sleep to come. I heard someone come in, heavy footsteps against the hardwood floor, and a sweet voice surrounded the room.

"Babe?" Ed called out to me, standing in the doorway.

"Hey you!" I replied with a smile. "How was the shoot?" I asked.

"It was okay, moved a lot. I would prefer lying on the sofa eating crisps with you." he said as he lay himself next to me in the bed then gave me a soft kiss.

I laughed. "Stop being a couch potato, baby. Our bodies need to work out every once in a while," I explained.

He sighed while he rested his leg on top of the other.

“Let’s go on a hike tomorrow, yeah?” I suggested. “Come on, it’ll be fun.”

He leaned back comfortably. “You know how much I hate hiking, Tay,” he protested.

“What can I do to get you to work out?” I mumbled closing the book I was reading and faced him. I caressed his face like I'm sweet-talking a toddler trying to get him to do what I asked. He went silent. But then he smiled. He was grinning looking like he had thought of a brilliant idea.

"What?" I asked letting out a soft chuckle.

“I’m thinking of a win-win situation here, if you’re up for it,” he said, smirking.

I rolled my eyes. I knew what he meant.

"We could work out now, you know.." he continued, "here in the bed--"

I cut him off. I knew where the conversation was going.

"That's not working out, Edward." I said acting stern.

He laughed, he wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me close to him, and pecked me on the lips.

"You get me all worked up now," he whispered.

"Aren't you exhausted enough from the shoot?" I tried to find an excuse.

"When it comes to you, I am never tired." he whispered, trying to be romantic.

He kissed me, sweet first then it became deeper and more passionate. Ed pulled away and took the book I was reading and placed it on the night table. I gave in, my fingers went from the back of his neck up his hair . His hands wandered, tracing my arm, he hooked a finger in the strap of my cami pj's and slid it down leaving my right shoulder bare. I let out a soft moan as his lips touch my neck down to my shoulder. I managed to ask him in between whimpers. "We're going hiking.. tomorrow.. okay babe?"

"Promise--" he replied then sealed my lips with his so that I could not speak anymore. He took off every single item of clothing on us and tossed it on the floor.

Ed rolled us over so as he was hovering over me, his eyes full of passion and desire he said, "I love you."

The next morning, I was awakened by my phone ringing, it was the alarm I set. My body was exhausted, I could barely move. I looked to my side and saw Ed, sleeping peacefully on his back. I managed to get up from the bed, walked to the bathroom to freshen up and get dressed.

In a black tank top and black short shorts, I popped up to Ed's side to wake him up. I placed my hand on his shoulder and lightly shook him. He stirred a bit but did not get up. I leaned down to whisper to his ear.

"Good morning, gorgeous!" I greeted. "Ready for the hike?"

He grabbed me by the waist and tossed me on the bed like we were in a wrestling match. His colorful arms wrapped me to restrain me from squirming.

"ED!" I shrieked.

"Let me sleep, babe," he mumbled still holding me. "I was knackered from last night. Have mercy."

I caressed his sleepy face and reminded him of his promise.

"But babe, you promised me that we'd go for a hike," I said softly.

"Isn't it too early, Tay?" he protested opening his eyes to check the time. "Why are you are dressed up already at half past six when we should be up by seven?"

I freed myself from his embrace and faced him.

"Get up already, Ed," I seriously ordered. "My bodyguard Greg, he's waiting outside for some time now."

"Isn't last night workout enough?" he smirked as he asked.

"I don't think that counts babe," I replied.

He groaned. I felt a hint of guilt to wake him earlier than usual so I peppered his face with kisses and that made up for me pestering him so early in the morning.

I prepared a cup of tea, toast, and jam to lift up his mood while I wait for him to get dressed. After ten minutes or so, Ed went to the kitchen where I was at. He was wearing a navy blue basketball shorts, a black shirt, his Nike's and a pair of Raybans. He took a seat at the counter and grabbed a bite on his toast. He gave me a good look from head to toe and then he uttered, "I'm not so sure if I can hike properly seeing you in those clothes, love."

"You should wear your sunglasses, so you don't get blinded by this," I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes. "You, perv."

Ed burst out in laughter.

After a quick breakfast, we hurried to Franklin Canyon Park. It was more of a nature walk through the hills. It was all sunshine in the city of angels. While following the trail, we talked a lot about the upcoming AMAs, his tour, my tour, his new album, life, and love.

I loved that Ed and I got to spend time outside after being always stuck indoors not to spark any more rumors. Ed hated to be in the front page, most especially if its about his personal life. So he didn't want us to be seen too close for comfort in public and I went with that of course. But we were in LA, and this hiking rendezvous couldn't get away with the paparazzi.

"Fucking paps never really rests," he whispered to me.

I raised my brows in agreement. "We're in LA babe, of course they're everywhere."

He sighed.

We continued to the trail where the paparazzi could not follow anymore, but the paranoia in me kept telling me it wasn't safe to get close to the boyfriend so we walked at least arms length until the end of the hike. Sure, photos were taken but those couldn't pin anything on us.
